My Nickel Silver Frame 112.

All of these great new 112s, but why not harken back to the pre-nail nick days for a clean blade?

I don't mean to start the "with or without" debate all over, but original 112s didn't have 'em you know....

Maybe they should put a nail nick on both sides. More traction for one hand opening.

Where are you going to find a Buck 112 with a nickel silver frame and a blade without a nail nick ?

The same place we find drop point 112s, or flat ground D2 112s, perhaps. These are build outs, not Buck catalog knives. I'm sure they could get one done. Maybe a "throw back" with Micarta scales, no nick, and something comparable to the 440C of that vintage, S30V or BG42 maybe?

I'm all for a BG-42 bladeD 112 with any kind of handles at all! Many of Bucks other models ,most notably 110's, have had all kinds of super steels at one time or another. The first time I'm aware of the 112 getting any thing but 420 was when Joe Houser had made or found about 100 BG- 42 blades and would put in any 112 you sent to Buck. Few were put in NS frames I'd bet. NS and any kind of flashy handle material. ..yep I'll step up.

Rather than start a new thread,I thought I would add to this one.

Here is another nickel silver frame 112 ,it's a BCCI edition with an S30V blade and linen micarta handles.

I'm looking at the Copper and Clad 112's in the last few months and plan to get a few including the new black and white they just come out with. D-RIG that BG42 112 is one very, very, special Buck! Thats the kind of 112 you hardly ever see. .Tell the story of finding that one or did you get it made special for you? I buy a lotto ticket once in a while to dream of having a case full of Bucks like that!

And Sportingspecialist my brother won the prototype set of that BCCI offering and try as I have he will not give up the 112 out of the set...I've always thought it is one of the nicest 112 the club ever done. It looks even better in your hand than in a picture.

THAT is a very nice 112 ....Do you ever put it on your belt? I constantly torn between strictly keeping one for display only and giving one very careful use. If it really apeeals to me I'll wear it occasionally even if I don't cut anything with it. I just got a WBC NS white bone 112 with a running horse inlays that is a important to my collection. I might wear it a few hours at the Blade show in Atlanta. But not out in the yard.

It was your pictures on pages 1 & 2 of this thread that made me aware of the existence of this 112 and brought my attention to looking for one.I was very fortunate to find this one,as it's the only one for sale that I've seen.

Thanks Haebbie.

Haebbie, the Grey NS corrain handled 112 in your group is one very rare 112..Dave got the one I had to go in his 'Dad and Lad' 110 112 collection. All the paperwork was printed in German. Very striking looks in your hand. NS bolsters are nice! I do have a 112 in brushed nickel ,one of the first fancy 112's I bought for my 112 collection.

Didn't I sent the Gray corian 112 to Florida? As I understood this knife was made for the German market, ordered by the German Buck knife distributor Herbertz.

P. S.: Do you know the NS-framed 110 and 112 with white corian scales? They are out there but I only could find a white 110.
