I have been looking for a 2008 competition finished Sarsquatch for quite some time, and I finally found one! Due to a stroke of good luck I managed to snag one that had been sitting at its original owner's house since 2008 new and unused, so it's pretty much new old stock (NOS). I'm guessing there are probably not a ton of these sitting around unused at this point, so it's probably fairly rare, but I plan on using the heck out of it anyways! I know this thread is worthless without pics, so here you go.

I refuse to subscribe to this thread. :(

You my friend, are a lucky lucky fellow. I've been hunting one of those for the entire length of my infatuation with Busse Combat.

Congrats!!,

Isn't it just pure awesome?!?!?

Be sure to let us know how you like her, once you've thaken her for a spin. :)

.

New Old Stock, eh?

"found...one at it's owner's house" eh?

Sounds like a REAL STEAL to me, if you know what I mean!

Did you know B & E will get you 11 mon. 29 days in most jurisdictions, Mister zmbhntr?

There's NO WAY anyone who owned such a cherry Squatch would give it up willingly!

Does anyone know if I can I declare a citizen's arrest over the internet?

*Just yankin yer chain! :p Epic acquisition, I hope you have a great time with her ...:D:thumbup:

<edit>

*Ok....just looked at the pics again...now that I think about it, I hate you... you're dead to me

Wow!

How did you miss all that pitting on the blade?

That thing must have been covered in rust before he sold it to you...

I think I can even make out some striations where the guy used a wire brush on it before he dumped it on you...

I'm sorry you got taken, zmbhntr, it's happened to all of us one time or another...

I'll tell ya what, I'll give ya $100 for it and, hey, you can go buy yourself a couple of BK2's :thumbup:

Don't worry, I've already transferred the funds... :)

And no need to thank me, I'm just that kind of guy, plus I really hate to see someone else..... errrrr...I mean anyone take advantage of a fellow piglet ...

My goodness! That's incredible, what are the dimensions on that beast, if you don't mind me asking, I'm new here:(
Oh I forgot to ask, what kind of steel is it?

Has it got a very little recurve (recursive part) on the edge after 2 inches from choil (Shown on the picture where)?

Congrats on a greath score!!! Which arm did you have to part with to get this awesome knife, left or right?

...and yes, specs please.

Holy INFI Dimples...Excellent Score...

I believe Busse Combat Blades are sharpened by hand ( albeit with slack belt sanders , etc. )-- so it isn't too uncommon to get a knife with a little variance in grind...anyways from where I'm sitting this 'Squatch seems up to spec to my old eyes...

piglet approved!!! :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Nice score on a great knife!

Those early CF blades were prone to surface rust if you looked at them sideways; it's impressive to see one in such great shape. Did the owner protect it in some way?

Thanks everybody!

It's INFI. I'll take some dimensions and report back. Unfortunately, I have misplaced my calipers but I'll do the best I can with a tape.

Fortunately, I have both arms still! Unfortunately, my first born appears to be missing.... :)

Thanks man! It looks like I joined this forum about a month before you, so perhaps you'll find one next month. They are out there it seems. I'm pulling for you!

Haha, the hog force is strong with you, but I see through your trickery.

There does appear to be a small variance; however, as PeteTroPointOne pointed out, that is not too uncommon with doing it by hand. It's a big convex edge on this knife so it should be somewhat more likely on the sarsquatch than some others.

Congrats!!,

I absolutely will!

This

I wouldn't turn one down in INFI.

Nice get Z. Congrats.

Thanks man.
