My not so common EDC set up. Now I just need a fixed blade. Whats your odd ball EDC

This is my EDC fixed-blade. I don't think they are very common. I don't think I've ever seen anyone else on this forum say that they have one. It's a Wilson Tactical model 25. 10+" OAL, 5+" D2 blade, almost 1/4" thick, full tang, micarta handles.

Wilson Tactical was once the knife department of Wilson Combat, makers of custom 1911's. Their knives were made to order and tended to be very heavy-duty. I've pried open a lot of packing crates with mine, among many other uses. Wilson Tactical closed shop several years ago and now they sell some knives (mostly folders) under Wilson Combat. It's too bad because they made a variety of very nice fixed-blades

1/4" D2 as well.

HMMMMMM.
Thanks for jumping in guys. Matt your fun to watch my man. Mark good to hear from you.
I now have so many choices to make. I think I would use the mora a little too hard and snap something as well. And It may save to not carry an axe and just a tough 5-6 inch blade.
I have some research to do.
I just picked up a new pack on line so im pumped.

This bob looks pretty cool as well. A step up from the mora I would say in toughness.

Im torn, because I love the bush craft designs. As well as the combat fighter style blades.

I absolutely love my bob..so much I bought 2, a user and a back up if my user comes up missing...just be aware the different handle materials vary in thickness...micarta ones are a fuller thicker handle, while g10 models are noticeably slimmer in hand...

So I thought the Brend was it... end of the line...

I figured if I have a Brend, I might as well have a dagger logo Marfione so I ordered a Socom Alpha tanto fixed blade. Should be here Thursday.

After that, no more fixed blades.

Here is a clip I got in and modified to fit the Burke, very nice. Now I just need that damn Ti back spacer and I cannot find one.
Although not as comfortable as the low profile stock clip, but if I am using it for that long of a time I hope I have a fixed blade on me anyway.

Now onto the fixed blade, Does the tops BOB take well to light chopping and is the tip a decent thickness. I watched a video or two, but just have to ask. My wife thinks it is a looker so she would use it too.
Second choice is the Esee 5. Which I have used a four once and it was silly tough enough for my use's.

CM I love that Brend. But its a bit much for my wife and for now. I can share. Although she already has a cheap fixed blade of her own.

As cool as the Brend is, I've been using it since it came and it's a bit thick behind the edge as well as heavy for all but combat. I figure the Marfione Socom will be a much better fit for urban survival.

Haha, ahh Matt! No more fixed blades... Hahaha!
yeah right! ;)

IMHO if you want a fixed blade under $100 that is on pair with your EDC you would have to buy it off of BF. The ESSEE mentioned above is good but if you want one to hold an edge on pair with your EDC I would look at getting a used Bark River. You can get them in any size from cpm 154 to m4 and 20cv(m390). If you want something exceptional look at a Big Chris 10v at .065" thick. It's an extremely fine cutter and amazing wear resistance. Spyderco has 2 Phil Wilson pins in s90v the South Fork and the Bird and trout version. I can't remember the name as I only have the South Fork. There has been nothing but awesome reviews about all these I have named. I have seen all of them sold relatively cheap in $150 range which is just a little higher than you asked about but WELL WORTH IT!!

All of my EDC knives are oddball.
