My novelty handgun.........

It was 1998, and I had been admiring the North American Arms Mini Revolvers for quite a few years. They were neat to me because of their small size. The fact that they were American made, well that made me like them even more :)
What did I decide to do about it?................ I went ahead and purchased a new in box .22LR specimen from one of my gun dealers.
Though at that point I had fired all the handguns that I had owned, this one was strictly going to be a novelty gun ownership, one that I had no plans to fire (though I had fired some other NAA Mini revolvers belonging to other fellow gun owners).

After the gun sat in a gun cabinet for a while, I started thinking if I should do something to make it a one of a kind (making more of a novelty out of it). This lead me to decide to look into some possible engraving. Went online and did a bit of homework that lead me to a private engraver named "Michael Edward Gouse" (located in the State of Montana). I contacted him and explained what I wanted, which he agreed to do for me. So, I sent the gun out.
When I received it back, he sent along a receipt for the work he had done, and this was all that could prove he had done this work for me (that, and his initials engraved into the frame underneith the grips).

While visiting his website recently, I noticed that he now offers a Certificate of Authenticity for his work. This was something that was not offered at the time he did the work for me, so I contacted him to see if he would be kind enough to have one done up for the work he had done on my gun.

I knew that he was an easy man to deal with, but I can now add the word "generous" as well, since he did this for me free of charge :)

Anyhow, here is the gun in a display I made for it back during 1998..........

Thanks :)

This display was definitely one of my simplest and easiest for me to put together, but I guess as long as it got the job done, it was fine to go ;)

Here is a more close up view of the engraved area (it will show up much larger than the area really is, since the gun is only about 4 inches long overall):

Amazing how the close up shows dust that I had not noticed was there. Guess it's about time it gets a fresh wipe down ;)

Thanks JJ. Very beautiful. A tour of your home would be very interesting it would seem.

I really, really, really like this one....a keeper for sure!

Beautiful little gun. I think they wear out fast, though.

I recently declined to shoot one in .22 magnum-

afraid it would be, POP! "Where'd it go?!"

I would rock it..:D

Sweet little gun ya got there bro.... :D

Gotta get me another one someday

Thanks all for the nice comments :)

My understanding, gathered from those that shoot their's a lot, is that the delicate parts are those that pertain to the timing and such (everything being so tiny). Even so, once/if a person notices a timing problem starting to develope, they can be sent back for timing adjustment and/or component replacement. This is done free of charge, since they have a lifetime warranty, and this is all covered.

They really do have a very good customer service reputation :)

Since mine was purchased as a novelty only, and will not be fired, I will never have need for this warranty ;)

PS.
I find it to be very true that these guns have an actual "kick" to them. They are very small (not much to hold on to), they are very light (4.5 ounces for a model like mine), and does fire a "large" round, that is when one considers the gun's overall size and weight ;)
Don't hold them with respect while firing, and it could fly out of your hands (especially in .22 mag) ;)

Love those little guns! had a LR and a Mag. Wish I had one now. never had trouble, shoot well, and pretty tough to engrave!

Tom

You had one that you engraved (your screen name probably means you engraved it yourself)?

Did you ever take photos of it?
If so, could you share?........... I'd love to see them :)

Thanks :)
