My NYC trip. First Knife show.

The pleasure was all mine, nice to see everyone. Even notice that the trolls don't do shows or at least don't introduce themselves. I guess maybe Mom would not let them borrow the car.- George

Takeda was great to meet, what a character...and fantastic forged blades. I was stunned at how light they were. I passed on an Ohta that I regret not buying too.

Was my first knife show and to have the knives in hand really answered so many questions I had.

mercop - It was nice meeting you and listening to you explain 'plausible deniability' :p. Takeda is a neat man. He goes out of his way to make you feel welcome at his table and his knives are works of art. If I had had the extra money I would be fondling one of his hunting knives right this moment. I hope to catch up with him at the March show in Jersey City.

It was, a very nice weekend. I was impressed with the show. I was a lot more comfortable there than in NYC in recent years. Free parking across the street from the hotel. No mobs of people to get through. Beautiful big bright room with space for us to move around easily.

NICE knives. :D

Yes, and you do need a lot of space, eh Ed?:D But kidding aside, there was a lot of breathing room even with a great turnout on Friday and Saturday. Good to see you and Ken again. Dan, nice chatting with you. Mercop, I' ll see you again at Chesapeake in a few weeks.

dttomcat.... I met you?..... ha.... did I know who you were?

Too funny.

I use Shosui Takeda's stones.... great tools from a nice guy.... he can get you the Japanese Blue Steel from his Dad, too...... oooooooh.... Samurai Steeeeeeeeeeel.

Jeez... that narrows it down, Esav.... I think you were the only guy who wasn't.

Nah, I didn't actually introduce myself. You were too busy workin'. I just listened. After hanging out with Esav I was a little starstruck. :D We'll catch up one of these days. Kin, "Chesapeake" you say, huh? :)

I gotta make it a point to go to the next show in March, it's been 3 years since my last East Coast show, (I only live a little over 1 1/2 hours from the City) and get to see some really knice :) people again.

There's so many new people from the forums goin' to the show, there a lot of you I haven't met in person yet, I'd like to put a face to the name.

Usually my whole family goes and my wife and daughter take in a play and maybe some shopin', leavin' me to, as she say's, "...go play with my knife friends.".
