My old 309...

You have me convinced it is SS :D

Magnet I am using looks just like that one, but has quakerstate on it. Came out of my Grandpa's things when he passed back in '73 after a long career as owner of an old fashioned Conoco gas station.

Hey, my grandfather had a long (50 year) career as owner of an old fashioned Standard Oil, then Amoco, gas station.

Next, I suppose you're going to tell me that you like Buck knives. :D :)

:D:D If you know exactly how many Buck knives you have, then you don't have enough!!:D

I refuse to count mine. My wife has a heart murmur...

Okay, is this a mis-print or are the bolsters now stainless steel?

I don't remember the exact year but I do believe they did go to SS. I'm sure 300 will know the year and scold me for not knowing.

I will read all the old catalogs and dig into the SS issue, I will get a very small magnet and try and compare to printed info. and we will get this settled. Most likely will only test ALL the 301, 303,309 and 305. Then will send out info to the people with a pile of 300s to check me out. Then will post the list. Will start the PM....

Anxiously awaiting final test lab results...:D
