My "Old Faithfull". What's yours?

Today I decided to start over again with my old faithfull, my Yella Peanut in CV.
I removed most of the forced patina with very fine sand paper, cleaned and oiled it, sharpened it up and dropped it in my pocket.
I'm planning to just use it.
No forced patina anymore, no more care for eventual small scratches. Just use it, maintain it and see how it goes.
We already went through a lot together and it feels good to make this decision.
I thought it would be kinda neat to know what your "old faithfull" is.

My son had his mobile phone camera ready and made this picture for his old dad :D

My old faithful has not changed for almost two years now. My precious, with another of my old faithfuls, a Peterson 300 series.

This Queen linerlock is as close to "Old Faithful" as I now get. It's been in my pocket more days than all my other EDCs combined.

My real OF was a Gerber Silver Knight in abalone which I lost a decade or two ago, after having carried it for well over 10 years.
Thanks to the good will of a member here, I now have it's cousin in pearl.

My Case slimline trapper from the early 70's in yellow delrin. There are uses that call for a long thin blade, and this one just can't be denied its place in the RFP!

It is this piece - #66 Serpentine Jack...

no forced patina just by using, cutting and carrying.

This one without a doubt!!! Nothing will EVER replace this "Old Faithful"

Bought new by me in 1970 with lawn mowing/allowance money. That's REAL pocket worn by me over some 40 plus years. Never be another.

That's fantastic Phil, I hope you get to spend another 40 years with it!

I don't have an old faithful. But I received this Northfield Scout for Father's Day last year, so it is one of my treasures. It's nearly become an EDC. One of my goals is to try and use it up before my time is up.

Christian, what a terrific knife---and absolutely gorgeous stag on that one as well:thumbup:

Thanks Paul. I agree, my wife has impeccable tastes. She did choose me after all. ;)

My old faithful would be this guy....had it since August and has been my main carry mainly ever since.

I usually carry at least two knives. One will change from time to time, and currently is my "boiled" TC Barlow. But always, for several years now, in my Right Front is my T. Bose Wharncliffe Trapper, seen at the top of the picture. The Wharcliffe blade is getting a little thin, but will still probably last my lifetime!

That's a difficult choice. It would be either of these. The Case would have a slight edge. But if I could only have one, I would not be disappointed in either one.

I've got to say my old faithful is this MCH. I've worn this photo out; need to take a new one. This one is my "precious"; I get really uptight when I don't know right where it is.

I've got other knives that could be "old faithful", Texas jacks, GEC 66 jack, 250A,B,C Silver Knights, Case SBJ and SBG, and of course mini trappers. But, if you make me choose which ONE gets the title that MCH is the ONE.

Old Faithful? This one has seen more pocket time than any of my other knives, and probably more than any five put together. My 8OT from the 70's.

Forced patina? What's that?
