I guess it depends on how you define "old faithful." Historically speaking it makes sense it would be my childhood barlow, purchased with money earned, like Paul, from mowing lawns. After all, I have had it over 40 years.
And had it updated last summer.
But it doesn't see as much regular use as my Case peanut,
or my Schrade stockman.
However, I have had these two less than a year, so that makes them "new faithfuls."
The one I have owned the longest (over 25 years) and used the most is my Victorinox Fieldmaster. Used so much in fact that the cellidor handles cracked and chipped, so I replaced them with nylon.
