My father was a collector of knives before me but he did not have a boy scout knives that he carried. I did have a few camp knives as a youngster but not any boy scout knives. In the last 15 years I have amassed a collection of a number of Ulsters including this boy scout knife with the original instructions.
I also do have some cub scout, girl scout... knives. It looks to me that one could pretty much get lost in picking up examples of all the makers and variations of the knives of Scouting over the years.

I would agree with eisman that you can find a fairly inexpensive parts scout knife on the auction site and replace the shield and bail if it bothers you. Then you don't have to look reproachfully at the bonehead that buggered up your family keepsake.
