I would recommend either some kind of breakaway clasp or some of that beaded chain they use for dog tags to prevent any situation where you the cord might choke you. I got five neck chains for just a few dollars .

yea i was thinking about that, i might order a break-away but im not sure yet how ill install it. i re-ran the paracord through the big eyelets and instead of knots maybe i can just burn the paracord into a ball, so if i yank the cord hard the "ball" pulls through this would probably be good enough to prevent choking. i dont really want to use a bead chain or a breakaway as it will limit the way i can hang it on my neck. the way it is now i can change hanging it vertical or horizontal and even have it face to either side by simply pulling the paracord a different way, without untying or unwrapping. i can also pull the paracord out both sides and connect to my leg for use as a boot knife without ever tying or untying a knot
