It's a hand forged Bill Buxton EDC made from 52100 carbon steel.

I loved the BAIII as well, but the choil was fairly useless for my fat fingers and there was a little bit much handle IMHO. I think of the "family" knives mentioned the Ratmandu would be my choice. I've tried all of those mentioned and a few more and I prefer the Ramandu.
