My passion is on hold for a while

While, I’ve always been a knife fanatic, it wasn’t until the past few months that I’ve really jumped into Busse knives. I developed the same passion that most here have and I’ve learned a great deal about Busse and knives in general from this board. For that I thank you all. Sometimes when you have an addition like this, it’s good to be in a group with others suffering from the same problem,

That passion however will have to take a back seat for a while :(. I lost my job this week (as well as others) when Warren Buffet’s group bought our company. Only a few short weeks after the acquisition was final, we were downsized and a number of employees were dismissed at almost all locations. Given my age, it will be difficult to find another job but the search will need to go on.

I will have more time to look, envy and grow in my knowledge of Busse knives as I continue to read these boards. Maybe I can scrap enough to make one more moderate purchase as a going away (from work) gift….lol but I really need to be careful, especially of the for sale forum during the weeks ahead although I keep telling the wife what a good investment they are.:)

Sorry to hear that, my thoughts & prayers are with you.

Sorry that happened to you. Hopefully your new search is swift and successful!

Sorry to hear that my friend. Same thing happened to me at the end of last year, but now I'm in a better job, closer to home, with better flexibility and way better money. Praying for you to find something quickly

Find solace in the fact that you really only need one Busse for life. The rest is, well.. you know.. bacon :)
Good luck with your new adventure!

There are no words-Wishing you the best of luck in all your new endeavors

Sorry to hear it, but I hope you find something that supports your habits better.

I'm actually going to be losing mine in a few months as well, I've yet to find a job and be able to transfer when the Army moves us, so every few years I start all over

Sorry to hear that! From a knife standpoint now you will just cherish the ones you have that much more!

So sorry to hear that brother, keep your head up, you'll be okay.
That's what family and friends are for, to give you a hand when you need it.
Busse isn't going anywhere, we'll be here when you get back on your feet.

That's tough man--sorry to hear that things took such a turn. I hope you find some work that suits you, brings you joy, and makes you forget about the last job. Hang in there! Busse will be around... may you land on your feet!

Dang man that is tough, prayers and well wishes headed to you and yours from Utah.

Hope you find something soon.

As I mention Utah, there seems to be a bunch of jobs to fill here.
I see help wanted signs everywhere here, a stark contrast to Arizona where my son looked for months to find a job.
Not sure what it is ?

Thanks for the well wishes and encouragement. I appreciate all of you. I'm sure the good Lord has something for me and everything will work out fine.

BTW, I vacationed in Southern Utah for a few years. Loved it.

Sorry to hear the news!!!!! :( Where do you live, what field are you in??? Anywhere near Martinsville, VA???

Actually I'm in Ohio and live about 15-20 miles from the Pro Football HOF in Canton. Ironically, I worked in HR, (employee benefits) but mostly spending my time in Workers' Compensation.

Are you mobile? I'm currently an HR Manager doing logistics stuff. Shoot me a message and I may be able to get you some leads that pay pretty decent, especially if you are mobile

Nothing ends until you're dead, and then only maybe.

Move on and evolve, life goes on and I'm sure you can find new stuff to do, whatever that is.

If you had the chance to own a Busse, rest asured your knife can easily kill the car of Warren Buffet himself with only minor blemishes to the finish.

Thanks for the offer and interest. I’m not very mobile in the short term. My wife is an oncology nurse and works at a major hospital. All of our children and grandchildren are within a 1 hour drive and she would not be pleased with moving away from them. Also my mother-in-law passed away just before Thanksgiving and my wife is the executor of the will. The will is possibly being contested and we are responsible for the sale of the house, property and possessions. It will be another few months before the waiting period to contest the will is over and everything clears probate court before we can proceed.
