My perfect combo !

I completely agree, except I'd sub the 16 for a 15, drop the 14 all together, then drop the 15 and buy a case of beer and go chop stuff with my 9.

Right on. If I could only have three, those three it would be...

Here they are stripping:

Revolver,
Great combo and lovely sheaths. I think they will serve you very well. I personally go with a do-all-never-fail knife in the woods, my BK2. On occasion I will bring a mora as a back up in a pack or something (weighs almost nothing).

Hi Cryptic,
I'm still looking for the knife to do it all... Difficult to find. Maybe the survive knives GSO 6 ?
I like the BK2 but it's a bit thick for most forest tasks

Every combintion of Beckers would qualify as a good one, imo. I do like this setup myself. 24 in front pocket, serves as a food knife. 16 on the belt for general usage. 9 in the backpack for the bigger stuff. That is if I'd be carrying a large knife or axe in my backpack which I have not yet done. I have never needed it on dayhikes...

But....it's a 9....it's not a question of need. Just putting it in your backpack will make you stronger and faster on the trail, the sun will shine 27% brighter and forest creatures will obey your every command.

I don't know much about survive knives. It looks neat in the pictures I've seen but for the coin you'd pay for one, I'm not sure it would be worth it. I'd probably look into a custom before paying $250 for a GSO 6. I bet you could figure out exactly what you want and talk to one of the vendors here and they could get you exactly what you need for very close to that price. Just something to consider.

Looks like a great combo althought I would probably substitute a folder for the BK-24 in most cases. I don't have a BK-9, but would use one of my short machetes which actually have more blade than the BK-9. That is of course IF I was willing to carry all of that stuff....

Big, middle, small.... works really well. You can drop the big one and substitute a folding saw or hatchet. Carrying a folder or the BK-14/24 is just personal preference. No big thing. Sometimes I carry both and only have the BK-24 with me along with my folder. I always have a folder on me. It just depends as usual...

Don't believe I've ever handled a Bk9. I do however have a Machax that I rarely go to the woods without. I'd like to pick up a 24 to go with it one of these days.

Me: 9, 16, 14 or 24

My wife: 5, 17, 11

My daughter: 16, 13

My son: 14, and a lego minifig in the likeness of Tradewater.....which by default, makes my son's combo the toughest and most effective of the bunch :D

I know, I know... But... No there's not but. I know I'm wrong on this one.

Sounds great. That would be tough to beat.
Personally, I have a 7, 16 and 24. But I haven't been in a situation where I'd need to carry all 3. (Not to say I don't anyway.)

If I was forced to take only one it would be the BK 9 :D
Chops like a big blade and handles like a medium sized knife.
Just perfect...

I have two of them.

And I'm thinking about getting a third. Am I crazy ?

Mike, have you been camping in the gumdrop forest, sniffing unicorn farts again?

:D

Silly. Everyone knows gumdrops don't grow on trees! They're herbaceous. I have been inhaling the sweet smell of unicorn flatulence, tho....naw, I was just trying to channel bigghoss...
But seriously, if you have a 9, why leave it home? Lord knows I don't need one, but you never know....

Agreed. I don't need an excuse to bring all my Beckers to the field. I may or may not use them but they are there....just in case. Anyway, I feel weird leaving them behind.
