Hey everyone I think I have found what I consider my.... perfect.... edc....

First of all, I never thought that I'd come to this conclusion of finding one single knife that fit all my needs. But recently I received a folding knife that trumps all others that I have had in my hands. The knife is exactly what I have been looking for. In my long journey of knife collecting selling and trading I had never really felt the perfect WOW feeling of a knife and had it be exactly what I wanted and needed at the same time.
My Brad Southard Avo is the knife that I am talking about and to me it is pure perfection. It looks and feels as though it would blend in to any situation that I ever encounter where I would need a knife. The knife can flip out as hard and as soft as I like, the handle fits my hand perfectly. The weight is perfect for me, not to light and not too heavy. It is barely able to be notice in the pocket, infact it isn't at all. The knife is beautiful to look at and feel in my hand, both opened and closed. This is exactly the kind of knife that is made with such quality, I can use it everyday and I know I will be able to pass it down to my kids when they are old enough. I am completely blown away and happy. Through my possession of many knives, striders, sebenzas (handled in store), and other high end knives... this one takes the cake. To me the fit and finish rivals the sebenza, yet its look is much more captivating. This knife has soul, and in my opinion it is the best edc knife for ME. All I can say is..... WOW

What are your guys' favorite blades? Have you found your perfect edc?

FFKW Fortis. Best feeling knife in my hands, plus all the things you like about amazing custom knives! I was thinking about getting the Southard Avo, seems like it would be a great knife!
I got to edit this and put in my Hoback A10. Those two are the top contenders for pocket space. Just like my fine diamond sharpener card and my black surgical Arkansas stone.

I was on the verge of grabbing an Avo; but I was deterred by the lack of thumbstuds. I've got nothing against flippers - don't get me wrong... I've got a few that I really like - I just prefer thumbstuds most of the time.
I haven't found The One, yet. I'm not even sure that I want to... but I have mostly restructured my knife carrying habits over the past several months. I've got a Tolk coming - hopefully, I'll like it enough to give it regular pocket time.

Glad to hear that you're happy with the Avo... if the Tolk doesn't push the right buttons, I might reconsider that option.

Those production Southards are pretty nice. I've been tempted by the Tolk a few times, but I have too many other knives I'm in love with.

For me, my perfect/favorite EDC's are my André Thorburn L51/L44 and my Rockstead Higo-X. All 3 are absolutely fantastic, and compliment my taste in knives very well.

I'll agree with Blues that the production Southards are pretty nice...but they do take second place after his mid-tech AVO and TOLK.
Here is my AVO with a black Southard. I've carried this AVO exclusively since last December, and see no reason to replace it with anything else.
Blowpop got it right... "my.... perfect.... edc...."

Mine was and still is my Boker Pipsqueak. Everything I want, nothing I don't. I'd gladly buy another one if anything happened to my current one. I actually haven't bought another knife since purchasing my Pipsqueak 6 months ago (ish).

It seems odd saying this considering I've had knives nearly 50 times the price, but my perfect EDC may be the CRKT Squid:

The size, shape, aesthetics, and the way it carries just suit me perfectly. Given that, I'm probably going to focus my efforts on tracking down a custom Burnley Squid pretty soon.

Why just one for EDC?
I've pretty much settled (for now) on three: Buck 301 Stockman, a camp/scout, and a Buck 110.
I learned decades ago that no one blade profile/shape is ideal for every task. By carrying all three as my EDC I am more likely to have the right blade for the job at hand.

Awesome knives!

Can you tell me the differance between the 51 and the 44???

Thank you sir.
