Here is what I made myself up late last summer. I have been carrying it on and off since. Makes a great everyday carry knife. I did not get much chance to test it out camping before winter hit. I just recently did up the leather sheath for it(my first...be kind:o)
I wanted something I would actually carry and use daily and hence, always have it with me. The handle is on the smallish size but that is how I wanted it. Choking up is easy and there is enough of a hump that I am not afraid my hand will slip onto the blade.
Specs roughly, just over 7 inches total, 3-1/2 inch blade, 1 inch wide. Green canvas micarta(blasted for texture/grip) with red liners.

Let me know what you think???

Craig

I love it. Simple and to the point (God I'm cheesy). I like the sheath too, personally I would have made it a horizontal carry but thats personal preference. One day I'm gonna sit down and make a knife, wanted to for a while. When I finally do I want to make one like that.

very nice craig... i like it...

nice and simple... looks like a perfect utlility/bushcraft knife....:D

do you plan on making anymore....:o

Nice looking knife. Reminds me of a Kephart somewhat. Just a little pointer.

What kind of steel did you use?

Well done. :thumbup::cool:

Very nice, you will get a lot of use from it I bet. I also bet you will get a line of guys wanting one too :D

Looks good. Did you forge it or grind it ? Have you tried wetforming the sheath ?
Do you prefer the kydex or the leather sheath ?

Me like.

Thats a sweet looking knife

Lovely back to basics shape that I prefer. I'm not into the hopeful monster school of knife design. For my personal taste I'd like it a little bigger, 5” blade field knife rather than a 3.5" EDC / bushcrafter. It looks like fulfills the design brief admirable though. Peachy.

CKE2, Great little knife!!! Like it very much. Simple and very functional. The leather sheath was a good choice for it.

Thanks guys. It is 1/8th O1, stock removal. I plan to try and wet form my next sheath.
I have made probably a few dozen knives now. This is one of my favourites so far.
I do plan to make more, but I think I need to make the handle a bit longer for other people though, or keep this smaller design/size and make up a larger model say 4 inch handle and 4 inch blade?????

Thanks for the comments guys:thumbup:

Hey I like that:thumbup: good size, good grind, nice and simple. I like the idea of a 4" blade and a slightly bigger handle. I fall into the category of wide hands longer handles are always sweet.
