My playground for the next 4 days....

Below are a couple of pics. Sorry, there is only a couple, my digital camera snuffed it in the cold I think - getting looked at now.

Uncle, there are usually lots of Trout but this trip was the quietest I have ever had, and COLD! Below is a pic of the ones caught. I arrived home late last night and got a message this morning that the others are 'bagging out'! The limit there is 5 fish per day and they were up to 6+ pounds. The way it usually goes hey!:(

The steel heart worked great for cutting firewood as you could only fish for 15 minutes or so before being on the verge of frostbite and had to go and get a warm up. The line guides were freezing up and had to be 'cracked' frequently to continue. I love the steel heart, only slightly bigger than the NO but much more versatile.

The snow subsided while we were there which was good, but still very cold.

The trout are nowhere near as wary as the NZ brothers! I am planning a hiking trip to NZ next year and can not wait! The best flyfishing water in the world and the most challenging! Oh yeah, thanks for the toast!

I am going to warm up, cyas.

The bottom Brown was a potential 5-6lb fish but due to being in very poor condition, only went 3lb. The rainbow second down from top was also 3lb and was rock solid on the hook up, a torpedo!

The others are around the 2 lb mark and are below average for that particular lake.

Oh yeah, the SH-E posing for the camera.:D

Gundy,
Great pics, thanks for sharing. Glad you didn't freeze off
your knackers.  :D

Well, my wife is due with our second child within the next few weeks so next trip could be a while off.:(

Then again, if one of you guys were to come over, that would be a good excuse as any to go again, wouldn't it?!

I made contact with the rest of the crew this morning and the fish have come on the bite with a pressure system moving into the area. They are all getting their quota using a 'Woolendibbie' fly (bet you never heard of that one, lol).

Just my luck!

Guy,
Great Pics, that place looks beautiful!! :D

Glad the SH is working out for you and congrats on your 2nd Baby. My youngest is 16 months and what a joy. Let us know when the Blessed day is :D

Congrats on the coming baby Guy. My best friend and wife just had their third boy last Thurs. (I've bagged my limit in the baby dept. already LOL) New babies are some of the best times in life!!!:) :) Even better than when new Busses arrive

Hey, it takes a lot to beat the BTOJ and new INFI.

LOL! Thanks for the kind comments fellas.

Yep, we also have a 14 month old boy so things will be busy for a bit juggling the two (and only 15 odd months apart!) Not bad for a couple who were told that we could not have kids. Just goes to show that you can not stop mother nature!

Only problem is, I cant find a busse T'shirt small enough for my boy...

um, size 1 Jerry....;)

Welcome back gundy!

That first pic is absolutely amazing! You've got some real talent, my friend. Great pics all around. Did you clean those fish with the Steel Heart? If so, how did it work?

Congrats on the upcoming birth....another future INFIitus case? :D

Screwtape - I will get it for you. It's a local fly for Jindabyne. It is used on the surface for the bigger rainbows and the take is simply breathtaking! You just get SMASHED!

Lynch - I snapped that the first morning there (very cold!), the sun had just rissen and I snapped the pic, lense flare and all. The high res version looks fantastic as you can see the guys fishing up along the bank. I cleaned the big fella with the SH but the others with my AS. I just choked the SH right up and it 'zipped'it open like nothing!

Nice catch gundy!

That looks like a wonderful area! Did you end up camping it or did you guys hold up in a cabin?

A cabin Strabs! We camped one year and left it for the die hards (way too cold)!
