Well, long story short my 0200 suffered a spine whack.. a true tragedy.. it suffered lock face deformation... and now, I'm looking for your suggestions of how to fix it.

Is there a problem with the lock up itself or is it you don't like it cosmetically? I find it hard to believe that given Kershaw's reputation they completely overlooked the problem you sent it in for.

Yes, any pressure on the back of the blade causes the lock to fail.. I was extremely surprised to get it back with the form I filled out, and it only sharpened. I'm not sure if they decided it wasn't covered by warranty or what.

I would think that if it was considered abuse or whatever and not covered by the warranty they would let you know in a letter accompanying the knife when they sent it back. Sounds like the best and easiest way to get this solved is a phone call.

Yes, I'll try that first, I suppose I just assumed they decided they weren't going to cover it

But, I was also wondering if anyone knew of a way I could fix this myself? I've heard of taking a file to it, but I didn't want to try that just yet.

I let my older brother, who is new to knives and has a crush on cold steel at the moment, borrow it to cut a branches in his yard. When he was done he "tested" the lock with a spine whack... I can't capture it with a camera but It scraped just a bit of steel off the lock face, just enough that under stress the lockbar will just slide off

Most knife companies consider spine whacks abuse and I would make him buy you a new one.
