There's a "using a drill press as a milling machine" thread every week and the answer is also the same: It's a bad idea that can be dangerous and will certainly ruin the drill press for any precision drilling. Any machinist knows this. But hey, it's your drill press, do what you want with it.
 
Even if you had a good mill, you can't make accurate cuts with a drill chuck.
You need an collet system or an end mill holder.
 
many of the smaller micro bench top drills have a screw on, chuck. Most larger presses have a taper chuck. if it chatters during a cut, the chuck will spin off the tapered shaft, while holding a sharp cutter. Your arm, hand, face or somthing valuable in usually the target. Also whin the chuck drops, with the cutter still in the guard slott. The end mill tends to explode. Especially Carbide. Mini Mills can be had for under 400. Check harbor Frieght. Grizzly. Mike
