My Production Pocketknife Rotation

who is the maker of that barlow there? it looks very crisp, and the finish on the bolsters looks like the matte that some custom makers use...

rifon, I just stopped laughing from Mike Robuck's post long enough to try to respond to a couple of questions here. :)

Most of the ones in that group shot, when not in my pocket, just kind of hang out in places around my recliner in the den, like the lamp stand, or a small table nearby. That way I can keep an eye on them, and fondle them as needed.

siguy, the Barlow is an AG Russell knife in 1095 steel and olive wood...it is another favorite from Rob-a-Thom-a-Son (sounds more like a sensei, don't you think?:D) in Tejas. Btw, AG Russell has several really nice models of that Barlow to pick from, including stag which I have seen and handled at his store. They are well made knives, and the 1095 is easy to live with.

Randy, sounds like you have found a nice stash of older Case knives.

You know, Ford, now that you mention the Martian mind meld mojo you and your sensei Thoma-san seem to be working, it comes to mind that nobody has ever seen you and Rob in the same room at the same time!!!

Methinks something is rotten in Tex-Ark! ;)

Here is a photo of me and Ford at the 1983 Southwest Road-Kill Jerky Cookoff Awards Ceremony. This should put to rest the rumors that Blues has been spreading that we have never been seen in the same room at the same time.
I'm the handsome one, the other one is Ford

Tell it like it is Thoma-san.

"Martian Mind Meld Mojo"...LMAO...isn't that a new Ben & Jerry's flavor?

Oh, and as far as this "same room" question, just remember (if I recall correctly), people said the same thing about Bruce Lee and PeeWee Herman never showing up together...so there.

And whatsmore, if anything is rotten `round Tejas or RcanSaw, it's all good. We are taking advantage of early Spring manic-in-the-road critter courtship and getting a jump on the Summer roadkill jerky market that RPBM Enterprises is famous for. At RPBM, we like to remind folks that "Nothin says Rotten Like Roadkill that's Been Forgotten." :D

Cool; same here. Coffee table, desk, etc.

Thanks for the info.

"Simply the Best" because, as you know Elliott, at RPBM we never road cure too fast, which can result in too dry a jerky.

In just the short time since you spotted this one in front of Rob's house, Thoma-san was on the job, and quick to initiate the pre-cure process. (Ssshhhhh...it's part of the secret recipe.)

Ford, LMFAO, but in all honesty, I think we may be letting too many family secrets out.

But, as long as we're sharing, let's give 'em a quick shot of RPBM's curing facility over at Thoma-san's ranch...(and this is only for our teriyaki roadkill):

Now, 6.0stroker, I don't wanna start too much trouble here, but what kind of self respectin' Okie from N.E. Oklahoma can't tell the difference between a 'dillo and a 'possum? :p ;)

Elliott, I'll try to be more discrete with the family recipes. You know it's amazing the work Rob has done turning that old 55 gallon drum smoker he had into what is now the teriyaki capitol of the south. He is a master.

"possum on the half-shell"...that's just plain funny now!

Here ya' go 6.0stroker, maybe these will help. :);):D

It's the residual used motor oil sticking to sides of that "old 55 gallon drum" that imparts that unique flavor to the jerky.

....and if I can get back on topic for a minute, those are some really nice blades in that rotation, Mister Ford.

Fewpop, if you would please, what's the second one down in the center row?

coffeecup, that is a Queen Mountain Man Lockback in D2 and amber carved stag bone. The Queen Mt. Man is available in several different choices of scale material, and is also popular in 1095 blade steel.

Fewpop -

The picture of your pocketknife rotation is outstanding. It's now the pic on my desktop and serves as my regular dose of knife porn.

Thanks for posting it.
