Well, I need some information about some things.

I don't know if you know the computer game Diablo 2 : Lord Of Destruction.

I've been playing that game for over 6 years with a friend.

It's a medieval game, with medieval weapons.

Falchion,Colossus Sword, Legend Sword, Champion Sword, Champion Axe, Gothic Axe, War Pike, Spears..

There's like 200 types of items like that, and I don't include the armor, helms, ect.

So, I don't know of much would it cost to custom make one weapons (with real steel, and sharp of course, because stores like Excalibor have swords but it's from cheap steel and won't cut !)

So, yes - I'm really a Diablo 2 fan and.. well, as a collector, I would like to have some weapons from the game in real !

However I would like to have dimensions and ect. for weapon, based on medieval weapons.

That's a big project indeed, maybe too big. I don't know the cost !

I have other project too, froa custom knife.. but I wanted to see if this project would be possible !(plus, i would be the only guy in the world to have real diablo 2 weapons and uh...real medieval weapons by the way!) i don't know the laws/legal stuff, but i'm a collector so..

Thank you very much, if you can post information conserning my project, I will read for sure ! and answer

Thank you again !

cool idea.... but someone to make custom pieces to exacting specifications to the game weapons would take years and years to make, and several thousands of dollars....IF you could even get someone interested in doing the job. Plus, most everyone is clueless to what Diablo 2 is. I didnt even know what it was until I read this.

Most weapons that are copied are things like Conan the Barbarian's sword, and other popular movie/comic book/anime weapons. The only things I've seen recently that were made into real weaponry were from the famous artwork of Frank Frazetta. The Death Dealer axe and helmet were made, and several swords from his other paintings. I believe the knife from the animated Heavy Metal film was made into reality.

Like I said, it's a cool concept but would be quite an undertaking.

Crazyhead...

Alas, what you are looking for are knives and swords that, each would be in the thousands of dollars to be replicated by any knifemaker with the skills to perform this work. I love that you are so passionate about your gaming that you wish to extend the experience into collecting, but the realities of this craft are that they would not be anything constructed on a whim.

The most inexpensive route may be to purchase some of those United Cutlery fantasy blades and have them properly heat treated and sharpened. Even that I am unsure, but starting from scratch, in this market, is going to cost you BIG bucks.

(And then you may always start collecting bowies and folders like the rest of us and stay in the year 2000... :p  )

Like you are infering: It doesn't hurt to ask.

Rick Barrett does very good renditions of fantasy pieces, but I'm not sure he would do something to specs. In any case, you're looking at anywhere from several hundreds (>$500) for a fairly simple knife size piece with no engraving or carving, to several thousands. The wait will be at the very least several months, and could go to 3+ years, depending on who you go to.

I think it would be easier, cheaper, and faster, to get a random fantasy blade and put it INTO the game.

I'm almost positive Diable 2 has map/level editing options, skin creating, etc. Jsut about every game these days does. I'm a gamer myself, but not specifically the Diablo series. I've seen it palyed and played ot for a few weeks on a friends account...but not much else.

"Life is a game where your wildest dreams can come true."

That's the philosophy of a knifemaker/swordmaker from your own province of Quebec - José de Braga. He created the swords for the movie "The Highlander" (and others). He is also a very fine gentleman who I'm sure would be kind enough to answer your questions.

but....Jose also charges at the top level. I cannot think that he would take a project on like this for less than middle level thousands, US.

Best Regards,
