that looks like it'd ride on the hip pretty easy, how's that boker handle, it's one tall blade for the length of it.

Cheers

it actually rides on my belt really nicely, the total weight of the setup is only 1.054kg or about 2.3lbs. it also can be carried wearing a standard leather belt which is a bonus for me.

cheers

nice well thought out trail rig...looks good in black...less mall ninja and all. Good level of gear with out the kitchen sink...Is it comfortable?

yes its actually very comfortable to wear on the waist. with a little paracord i could make it into a shoulder bag if i didn't want to carry it on the waist.

thanks for the "mall ninja" comment :D lol

i have a whistle on my car keys which is always with me hence i didnt think i'd need to put one in there, but an extra one in the kit couldnt hurt.

DD: thanks, the knife slices really well and fits in the kit very nicely.

i'll be posting pics later in the week of the knife and kit in use

cheers

Sweet! My kit is about the same size maybe a little smaller. I use an army ammo pouch type thing I bought at the army surplus. It rides on my belt and it contains very similar items. I always have a folder on me but I recently bought a David Farmer drop point and man it fills the fixed blade niche quite nicely for my pouch. It is slimmer and smaller than alot of fixed blades and this is precisely why I like it. I would highly recommend one of his knives they are quite the cutters!
I like the thin profile of your boker. Some action pics would be awesome when you can! I think the maxpedition packs are okay in general but none that really suits me or my needs. That maxpedition fat boy of yours though is something I may pick up.
