Took me about a year to find one reasonably priced. About $150 to my door.
Brand spanking new in box! I'm sure this one will get lost somewhere in the bowels of my safe.

Now, on to the next quest. A Mini Task.

Great find!

It would be nice to see that knife come out again some day...perhaps with 110V or a CB attached to it!

Glad to hear your quest is over.;) No more rare Kershaws for you, right?:D

Very nice knife. I have several myself, and they are all members of the "safe club".

Congrats. That is one of my favorites also. I also have its little brother the mini. Keep looking, they make a nice set.

i wasn't around at the time of this knife, please explain to me why it is so desirable? and some specs maybe?

Well, the Random Task was the first Kershaw designed by Ken Onion, and was also the first assisted opener by them and Ken as well. I believe it won Knife of the year at Blade, which was mid to late 90's. I can't remember the exact year off the top of my head right now. Also, the blade steel was CPM 440V, also known as S60V. The steel all by itself is hard to come by these days, but when coupled with this particular knife design with AO by Kershaw it makes for one desireable blade. Also, polished G-10 has not been done for several years and is also in short supply. The liners and clip are made of titanium, adding to the lightweight yet strong aspect of the Random Task. Basically, it's one of the holy grails of the Kershaw lineup.

Get one, if you can;)

Hope this helps,
Jon

4, IIRC...Dave will give us the correct answer.

And I find it interesting that most people have the "other" one...I have the bottle opener, but can't find the PE.
