If you're technologically inclined, might be worth setting up a cheap web cam to see if you have any "visitors" while you're out.

Sorry for your loss but more importantly something seems amiss. As a former LEO I go by the the theory that "There are no coincidences".

Locks: already changed (and I will get additional one installed)
Safe: thinking over it… im not own any firearms (or I'd have a safe by default)
Webcams/alarms: good idea must do some research

That doesn't sound paranoid, but one thing, change your locks. Hope you manage to sort this out.

webcam idea is good, them you could catch the guy and have a better chance at getting your stuff back.

Sounds like you have someone coming into your place. I would either try the webcam or a lowtech method like leaving an ashtray full of change that you know exactly how much is there or hairs on the doorsill.

Thanks for your advices everyone… it all very sad. I was very angry for the fist time, but have thought it over and decided I really dont feel like playing cop, myself. I have a new Rat now and very mean italian made lock. End of story.

You posted earlier that you have a routine of returning home at the same time. Try to change up your routine times comming and going. You just may catch a rat.
