my Ratweiler came!

zakjak, the thickness feels very nice in proportion to length. I have a couple of really thick blades, but don't tend to use them. My BK2 and Esee 5 sit in the closet. In fact they will be for sale here soon as I'm about to clean out a bunch of stuff I don't use. This just feels right. My Ratmandu does as well.This uncoated is almost the same as my ratmandu coated. The Ratweiler feels stouter.
 
Barbarossa, I had intended it to be a user, but now that it's here it is so pretty. And it's a real low number, #12. I'll have to think on that, I have a lot of users...

So who makes leather sheaths? I know the kydex guys will have them soon, but I think I want to cover this one in leather. Or maybe one of Buy Brown's zombie sheaths

For sheaths-there are many great choices.
For leather--I have both Chuddy Bear & Kelley sheaths.
Very happy with both.

I think the blade has a nice width. It's stouter than the esee 6, but not too stout.
 
I'll have to check out kelly sheaths. Chuddy Bear looks great, i've contacted him twice and been ignored both times. I have a SkyStorm sheath for my Ratmandu and love it, but I don't know if he is expanding his line to cover new models now. I contacted him about a sheath for my Mud Mutt and he was too busy.

It looks like if your choke back on the handle after the finger groove in the handle that it would be really comfortable for choking back and getting a little more chopping power.
Would you agree is there plenty of handle for that?
Perhaps not super secure but enough for a good forward weighted grip?
 
I wear large - xl gloves and I can get all 4 fingers behind the finger groove, although just barely. I can almost fit my index and middle finger in the groove. This handle is way huge.With a closed fist on it I have an inch of G10 out each end of my hand and !/2 inch exposed tang at the bottom.
