My RC6 Recurve

I got the RC6 serrated a while back in a trade. I liked the knife overall, the serrations are well designed but just not my thing on a blade. I removed the serrations with my hand files (not to disturb the heat treat), hit the stones and finally the strop. I blued the logos, stripped the coating (blueing stayed put) and left the finish as it was by Rowen prior to coating the blade. It has a nice even rough satin type of look going, that may wear down & shine up some with honest use. I like it this way...any opinions? I forgot to mention that I sanded the screws also, they appear to be stainless and shined up nice and even.

I like it! Not a big fan of recurves, but that one is more like a "reduced forte" shape. Nice trick with the blueing/stripping process!

Looks very nice. I like the blued logos. The recurve doesn't look too severe either, should make a fine knife.

I'm with 42Blades... While I am not a recurve kinda guy, your workmanship is outstanding!! The finish is top notch:thumbup: Bravo!!

Question... Once you stripped the blade, you didn't do anything to it at that point? No sanding? Just factory original minus the paint?
Damn, I really like that finish!!

The more I look that more I realize that is what my RATs will look like after some must needed using.

Longknife3,

You got it right, that is the finish under the coating.
It is a nice satin look. I have stripped my 3 & 4 as well but sanded and polished them. The 6 was one I just left alone, trying out the blueing on the logos. I like the 6 satin look best of all.

Thanks gang, for the nice feedback & comments!

Very nice job.
I've tried using a file to roughly convex a 1/4" blade but it didn't work. Either the blade was too hard or the file too soft or too fine.
