my regular knife is in the graveyard, lookin for a new one

I'm surprised you haven't gotten a bunch of recommendations for the Camillus EDC. A version with a 154CM blade would only cost about $50 American and is a great knife. It's extremely well made with a bullet proof frame lock and first-rate materials, titanium frame), a bargain nomatter how you look at it. Its 3 in blade cuts much bigger.

The only caveat is if you have large hands, the grip may seem somewhat small. Of course, it's been around over a year and has lost sex appeal to some.

I'll third the Camillus EDC. It's the one I have sitting in my pocket right now out of about 8 other one hand openers I own, several of which cost twice as much as the EDC. That's the best testament I can give, this one just gets the job done and then some. Of course, I've been eyeing a few different benchmades, Microtechs, and the SERE 2000 for a while now, but for the money the EDC is exceptional.

avalanche, camillus edc in 154cm, or the ag russell model in d-2.

wow!!!...crkt told you off??? not to smart on their part!!! do they know you post on bladeforums??? if they do browse here like many other companies they're being too smart about it!!!

I think that you should stick with either the BM 710 or the discontinued BM 750. Both are large, durable, and way tough tools.
Matt

I'm just curious, what CRKT knife did you own?
I find it hard to believe that one would break off at the tang just from whittling a twig.

Anyway, here are a few suggestions:
Gerber Harsey Air Ranger
Gerber Spectre
Kershaw Scallion
Kershaw Boa
Camillus CUDA Quick-Action knives
CRKT M16
CRKT M18
Benchmade 720, 550, 555, 940, 710 (just to name a few)
Victorinox Rucksack or Locksmith

Too bad you don't like Spyderco knives...

Good luck,
Allen.

Hey, sooner or later you'll be getting one, so it might as well be now. It's a lot of knife for the money, better, in my opinion, than the Al Mar SERE 2000. The SERE is a handsome knife, but unfortunately has a liner lock (which I do not trust). The Benchmade Axis lock is hard to beat.

allen c, it didnt break just from the little twig, something would be WAY too wrong. i think its from a previous thing, i dont know though, it was the smaller version of the stainless knife with large holes in the handles, and its got a partially serrated blade.

It sounds like it may have been one of the smaller knives in CRKT's "Summit Series".
Those knives are okay, but certainly not the best CRKT has to offer.

Good luck,
Allen.

hey outlaw, trhat knife maker was real Fun!!! i had some good laughs, but theres one pattern that i liked, what are the sizes of the knives? and hows buck lately/?

Here is a link to some specs on the knife:
http://www.buckknives.com/products/details.php?ID=47 .

The Buck 110 is the flag-ship of Buck and they have based much of their succes on this knife (if not all). The quality is the best you will find in this type of knife. I bought my first one about 10 years ago and the lock-up is rock solid. In short: it will not fail you.
The customer-service is one of the best in business and we have many people from buck on this very forum(even the owner of Buck).

PS. You should also take a look over at the Buck-forum.

Try a Buck 110 (lockback) or something a little more 'chunky' like the Buck Alpha Hunter, folder (linerlock)(one-hand opening). I've had mine for awhile now & there both great & well within your price range! Good luck in your search.
