My review of the light Choppa.

I had a much more negative response for you sir basically telling you to mind your own business but as this is Nathan's space I'll just leave it at this- It is a private estate but thank you for your concern sir! and zero live tree's were hacked into other than minor branches that extended out over the trail, The one tree you see was dead standing cherry.

So basically Grunt didn’t murder any trees.

I will say the pic showing the round being split is on a pile of rounds that look like they have been there a long time. Doesn’t look much like something I’ve ever seen in a park.

But maybe US parks where you guys are look different than up here in WA/OR.

It is all about context. People don't know much based on pictures, or videos. I could take pictures/videos of my chopping down tree after tree with my choppers and slimline machetes, which I DO by the way. But, what is not shown is that those are overgrown nursery stock trees that someone left after leasing our property and never getting the land back to original, like they agreed to, so we have to do it all. Bulldoze it and give the wood to fishing and wildlife for salmon spawning grounds. In the mean time, it is heaven for anyone that wants to test blades out, or harvest wood products!! :D
You don't know what you don't know.
By the way, your dog licking does look like a pacifier in his mouth! haha Nice German Shepherd though! That is all me and my family has ever had, great dogs.

Good review GS. I’m with you, I can’t stand polished synthetics on a user knife. The unbuffed really lock into your hand a feel warm to the touch. If anyone uses a bigger knife for an extended period of time, you’ll find yourself in favor of the unbuffed every time.

Great usage there Mr. GS. I really like the unbuffed micarta, haven't tried TeroTuf yet. One other option to consider is the linen micarta. I have the maroon linen on my HDFK and it locks in like a champ. I absolutely love it. It has the warm grippy feel of unbuffed micarta but it's very nice looking also.

Love the working shots of your CPK's, keep it up!

I forgot that I have a set of linen micarta scales for my LC, I need to give them a try!

I have had a wide variety of handles on my CPK including black micarta buffed and unbuffed, Vinatge micarta Buffed, Westinghouse paper micarta Buffed, linen micarta buffed, G10, wood and of course a couple TT handles.

The RLC I worked with yesterday is buffed edge cut vintage micarta with a tiny bit of Obenauf’s LP that got on the handle as this was the first use of it since re-coating the tang. I guess a tiny bit came out from under the scales. I can’t believe how the tiny bit of contamination changed the way it feels in hand. It looks darker, kinda like just natural hand oils would but more even and rich looking. It made it feel almost tacky but not sticky. It’s just above freezing here but water outside is still frozen so I was not wet and sweaty but the handle was perfectly locked in and I had no hot spots or slippage making hundreds of cuts. It’s very, very usable.

Good Review, and Observations, Thank you! I do not find the Buffed scales slippery but we all have or likes and dislikes! (The LC 10 inches long Approximately, and .187 Blade stock IS NOT what I would call a Heavy knife to begin with) You can Bead Blast your scales and this would provide a more Secure Grip! I have a Dangler sheath with Leg straps from Eric@Mashed Cat and would not trade it for anything I have I seen (Again Preference)! The LC is truly a Great offering from CPK! Thanks again for the review!
Only after getting an LC with buffed black micarta and my first tero tuf scales. Love the feel of the tero tuf scales might see about getting a set for my HDFK . I don't see Mashed Cat showing he has an LC sheath for sale, were they a short run. Wouldn't mind getting a sheath with leg straps have one of his sheaths like this for another knife I find it great.
Great thread Grunt soldier
