I rather like the look of that knife and a double edge would render it a prohibited import in NZ .No problem importing my (beloved) H.I. katana though,....go figure!!!

Really nice Steve! That handle is perfectly symmetrical. I've noticed that sometimes one side or the other will be sloped / formed differently on these.

I only have one purpleheart handle, on a JKM. I've never done anything with it, but the wipe on poly is a good idea. Did you use the standard poly or the water-based stuff?

My scabbard was fairly stiff, and I used plain leather dye on it, but using the beeswax instead is clever. Darkens, hardens and waterproofs in one step. The belt loop is also a big improvement.

I thought carrying this small fixed blade everywhere with me might raise some eyebrows, but not a soul has mentioned it. I guess the folks at work are used to seeing "weird old Steve" with a knife. LOL

Well, I guess they figure they had better not say anything, or else! Plus, all those years of carrying a large potato down the front of your trousers has probably inured them to your weird ways. (?)

Seriously Steve, I'm sure it's where you live, and the laid back attitude of people about what is obviously a tool. Out here, SWAT would be on your butt in an instant if you dared to cavort around the workplace with such a death weapon on you. I've had people complain about a small Spyderco Delica clipped _inside_ my front pocket, and called into HR about it. Same with a Tony Bose Case saddlehorn. "Why do you have a knife? Are you paranoid?" is their favorite question. I keep them out of sight now.

Nice little carry knife for sure.
