Okay, not much of a break, just the scissors spring on my daily classic that I've been carrying since August of 2022. I was used then, in a lot of 3 classics from the great bay, for 10 dollars, and it's old enough to have the 4 line tang stamp and a screw in the scissors. I ordered a few extra springs for like a buck eighty five each to have on hand. Of my half dozen classics three of them have screw pivots in. the scissors so they are old, and I may as well have a few springs on hand.
But still it was a semi startling moment. One gets so used to a standard of performance from certain products, that when a failure does happen, it's kind of like a surprise. Like a Bic pen failing to write, or a Smith and Wesson revolver malfunctioning. Or the Toyota not starting. One gets so used to the everyday reliability of the SAK. Oh well, at least the its an easy fix.
