Finally got the new Scotchbrite belts and wheels in today, and finished stripping my BT6. What a difference fresh abrasives make! The presentation side had some of the heaviest, toughest decarb I've seen on any stripper. This is what I started with a couple weeks ago after stripping the coating:

The other side looked more like what I've seen on previous strippers. A couple bad spots, but not too bad overall.

The logo etch turned out pretty nice! (Hindsight is 20/20; I thought I went deep enough, but after finishing the blade, I wish I had gone a little deeper.)

Here is where I left her a couple weeks ago, after some work with a worn out Scotchbrite belt:

The non-logo side looked decent though. I started there, and it basically finished off the belt.

Today, I decided to start off with the coarse Scotchbrite belts and disks. Brand new coarse abrasive made short work of the leftover decarb, and worked well to blend the grind lines too. I moved onto medium grit from there, and after finishing, it looks almost like fresh Busse satin INFI goodness. Not quite as good as factory, as I didn't want to remove too much metal, but it came out pretty close.

After washing it and taking some pictures, I realized that there is a small section near the handle scales on the presentation side that still needs a little more work. It is amazing how fast that clean decarb changes color under plain tap water. Will finish it up and get a couple shots tomorrow in better light.

Overall, it looks great though, and once I get my Pirtlemade belt sheath for it, this BT6 will make a GREAT hunting knife!!! :D

ETA: More Pics!!! These show the blade pretty well from some different angles, and turned out a lot better than yesterday's did IMO.

Very nice looking. I want to do this to mine but haven't gotten started yet. I would be pretty happy if it ended up like this.

Wow great work !!!!! Really looks awesome
Thanks for posting the pics
