My search for EDC Perfection

I just found the Surefire Jekyll, anyone know about this knife?

Also, the Microtech Selectfire is on sale for $259 at Bladehq. Is this a good knife.
I'm sure the surefire is an okay knife but I tend to stick with dedicated knife companies. As for the microtech, by most accounts Microtech makes a very good knife, but their customer service is garbage and the whole 0777/Matrix fiasco left a bad taste in many people's mouths. Let's not turn this into another microtech argument though, I'd suggest you read up on them.

In short, I'd pass on the surefire and the microtech.

From what I have heard the 560 is lighter and much less "tank-ish" than the 550 due to things such as milled liners and 3D handles

In my opinion "edc slicer" perfection is the kershaw 1740 it fits your wants, it is relatively inexpensive compared to others suggested, and it is the fastest flipper I have ever has the pleasure of handling. The hollow ground blade makes it an amazingly sharp slicer.

I have the Select Fire and the Socom Elite and will have the Socom Delta if it ever gets here. They are all great knives though MT is generally poo-pooed on this forum. I won't get into it and hope others will not either but do a search if you want the info. The Select Fire is one of my favorite knives I've ever owned. Sharpest knife I have ever recieved from the factory. Comfortable in the hand and pocket although it does not ride low. It's well built and definately solid.

Another worth looking at it the DPX HEST 2.0, I chose one of them over the 0550, felt better in the hand to me and is slimmer and lighter in the pocket. Also the HTM Gunhammer if you want a good flipper.

Is the select fire somewhat slim? Although the handle looks long, to me it seems like it's a small, slim handle. Also, you got me interested in the DPX Hest 2.0, seems like the perfect size, but the nutn fancy review worries me. What do you think of it?

Thanks for all the help guys. Does anyone know where I can get an Emerson mini cqc 15 or horseman in satin plain blade (would even settle for black plain)? Can't find one anywhere

I would say it's slimmer than the 0550, but I wouldn't call it skinny. I refer to my hands as being on the large side of average and the way it's shaped it fits my hand very well. Very good ergoes.

Here's an in-hand for reference:

I also have a 550 that I really like for heavier duty carry, but not for EDC. I use it for outdoor work around the property or for a woods carry. I bought a 350 KW at the same time and I've been carrying that for EDC. It looks like there's not much difference just from pix and specs, but to me the 350 carries much easier and makes a fine slicer for warehouse work.

I have a 550 but prefer PM2's for EDC. I'd reco the Benchmade 710; hard to beat that knife. Extremely popular and available in super-steels.
The 560 is a larger knife than the 550, although it is sculpted. The Chris Reeves knives and XM's are great, but over your head financially; $400 or more.
Spyderco Gayle Bradley is heavy-duty; plenty cheap enough with M4 steel. Heavier, larger, thicker than PM2.
I have a Emerson CQC-7V that's very nice; I like it; it won't break; lots of military users. I would stay away from tank-like knives with overly-thick blade-steel. If you think the 550 is too heavy for casual EDC; we agree.
