And this is how it turned out so far -

Any critiques before I start on the handle?

1/8" 1084 carbon
3.25" blade, 7.5" overall

Everything except for the stock removal and the holes in the handle was done with files and sandpaper.

I believe that the shape including the properly angled gut hook is a good one!! I also really enjoy the overall design of this knife. I would very much like to see it with the shaped scales completed. Frank

Thanks guys.

This is the first knife I have made with a gut-hook. I'll try to get it finished up this weekend.

I like that the belly is more centered than pushed towards the tip. This is typically different that other gut hook type blades. Overall it gives it a fantastic look...

I will repeat what others have said in that I am not a gut hook fan, but that knife looks great.
The shaping on the handles look very smooth and comfortable. The curved edge will most likely be a great skinner/slicer.
Overall, I would say great work.

Thanks for the compliments/advice :)

I think I am going to stick a fork in it... I polished it a little and put an edge on the blade and the hook. Here are a couple shot (I am NOT a photographer  )
