Well here is the second knife that I have made at IG's. The knife is a stick tang, the 3 inch flat ground blade is made from the first piece of Cable I welded my first day at IG's. Guard is hot blued mild steel, and the handle is spalted maple I believe. Thanks for lookin at it.

good work. did you stain the wood? if not it looks a little to dark and the grain looks wrong for maple.

Not bad for #2. Work on fit up get eveything good and flat to work out the gaps between gaurd and handle. Get some fine emery cloth and shoeshine the handle to finish removeing the big scratches. Your off to a real good start keep at it.

The wood is stabilized spalted beech, from Dewey. Did you glue it all together????

I wondered if that was some of my Beech. I won't tell ya how far I carried my chainsaw to cut that into blocks so I could haul some out of the woods!! :D:D

Lookin' good,Jon. Keep at it and listen to only half of what IG says!! [listen to knife advise, ignore the rest!! :jerkit:;):D]
