Well it took a while but I am back in the shop. Ok, the garage. ;) Here is my second "Knife Shaped Object". Steel unknown. Mainly to work on the whole process and see where I need more work. And it looks like I need more work pretty much everywhere. (Grind, Fitting, Dyeing, Finish...) I should have listen more to your advices on my first KSO. Well time to start work on number 3.

Wow that looks great. I like that handle especially but the knife looks great all around. Good job!

It's not too late to take this one to the next level.

Chamfering or smoothing the guard's edges would improve it a bunch IMHO.

Why start a new one when you've done sooooooooooo much work on this KSO already.

Improving is half the fun. Knowing when to say "Enough!" is an altogether different skill which I am still working on myself.

Looks great to me! I can tell you put a lot of thought into the design, particularly the handle, which is shaped very nicely. -Matt-

Yeah , there aint a darn thing wrong with that one  Nice work on the handle too, real nice  Specs  ;)

Thanks all for the good words. I may try and correct some things but as you say, I am approaching the point where I need to say enough and start a new one with what I've learned.

As far as specs, well handle is about 5", blade 9.75". Blade steel is unknown, bolster is aluminum with brass and stainless pins. Handle is Maple if I remember right.

I need to get some 1095 or O1 steel as well as some different alloys for the bolsters and nicer woods for the handle.

And we won't even get into what tools I still need. Will the quest never end? ;)

Thanks again for your support.
