Nice knife. I keep wanting to make a kitchen knife but haven't yet. Maybe this is my inspiration.

One of my first knives I made was for my sister and santoku turned out nice . Next one will be better. Ive just finished a paring knife for my mom , she said its to nice to use lol.

Thanks JV and Kelly... one thing I am worried about is the "Patina" it will get cutting Fruit etc. I don't mind the look but my mom is used to Stainless, guess we will see how she handles it!

While I'm hardly in a place to criticize (being as I have yet to actually make any knifes...) it seems to me that a paring knife would be better served without the recurve, although it's less of a problem than if it were a knife intended to be used on a cutting board.

That, and I think your girlfriend's right, the mixed pinstock looks odd. The tubing in the middle is nifty, except that it might get crud in it (I'd try more open/wider tubing), but I'd suggest using all brass on the next one.

Hey Bob I appreciate the input, this was made from a scrap and it worked out better as a recurve. you are probably right about it not being the best design for a pairing knife, but it will be mainly used for peeling fruit and cutting the cores out of sliced Apples / pears... we shall see

I don't like the brass really at all, I think I should have just gone silver (Color) all the way around.
