My second sheath (it's for a wharncliffe)

I agree whole heartedly about edge paint. I know some world famous saddle makers that feel even dyeing an edge is heresy.

:) Paul , could you please clarify your position on edge paint ?
I'm still left wondering after your last ambiguous post .

Seriously , I'm glad someone came out and said it . I didn't feel qualified enough to denounce it , but in my opinion it makes leather work look like rubbish .

Ken

It is made for and used on cheap, mass produced items. If ya have enough interest to read these posts ya can rub an edge.

Agreed, agreed.

I wouldn't say that I'm looking for an easy way out. I've been on a video watching spree, and got caught up by watching others use the paint. Not on sheaths mind you, but as a decorative application. When I saw it at the store, I jumped. Unfortunately, it cost more than twice as much as the dye, but maybe I can find something to use it on one day.

I have every intention of doing better work. Constant improvement and all that.

I guess sometimes things are an easier way for a reason, and come with a trade-off. I have no interest in that. ;)

I know you do Strig, buddy. That's why you.re here. A guy would think that that edge paint would be a way to go but it ain't.
