I wanted to write this thread requesting a little help from everyone in this small, but powerfully tight nit community. As some of you know, or had seen from a post I had put up a few months ago during CHD awareness week, my son Madden was born with congenital heart failure and needed heart reconstruction surgery when he was 3 months old. It has always been our hope that no further surgeries were needed, however, weve known additional surgeries were likely, just not when. Some weeks back when at the cardiologist and after Maddens routine battery of tests, his doctor suggested that his next surgery will likely be eminent after the surgical board reviews his results. After review by the board, we are moving forward with Maddens second heart reconstruction, which is taking place this Wednesday the 25th. Tomorrow is all day pre op. His surgery should last about 7 hours and he will hopefully be in the recovery ICU by midafternoon. What I would ask of you all is that sometime between 7 am 2pm est. Please say a prayer, light a fire, blow some smoke (or have a smoke), send well wishes or just send some positive thoughts in his direction as the surgeons at Childrens Hospital do what they do best, repair our childrens hurts. We feel so blessed to live only a few short miles from one of the finest facilities in the country for this procedure. Ill do what I can to keep everyone in the loop and I hope that by 5-6 days after surgery we will be bringing Madden to recover in the comforts of home. Madden, my wife Kristi and I all really appreciate any support you can lend and I hope by Blade Show Ill be able to toast all that are there to his progressing recovery.
