My oldest son loves looking at my pocket knives. This year for his 5th birthday, I ordered him a Case Wooden Knife kit and gave it to him for his birthday this morning. He was so excited! He wanted to color it so that it looked more like daddy's real ones. After coloring, we assembled it. He wanted to go put pants on so he would have a pocket to put it in. :) It opens and closes (with half stops even). Mommy was happy that the blades won't cut hot butter.

Awww! Great pic :) Pretty good colouring job too ;)

Thanks for the story. Of course now you need to find a real one in that color from his birth year to gift him much later :D

Man thats awesome brother. He sure is one happy birthday boy :)

Appreciate the link on these as well, hope the rest of his day goes just as well.

Thanks for sharing this nice story. It made me smile. He seems to be really happy on with his first pocket knife.

(No doubt, Mummy is also happy that the item wouldn´t even cut anything)

Great story! Thanks for sharing.
That is one happy boy :)
I think the wooden knife kit is a great gift for such a situation.

Very cool story. With that coloring job it doesn't look too far off a real one. Way to go!

Nice to see Case come out with some wooden scales. And I like the brown Damascus blades but they need to work on polishing the bolsters better. :)

Is that Caribbean Blue? I have a 54 trapper that is Caribbean Blue! Love it! I (sometimes) wish I had a child so that I could gift gifts like that! Great job dad!!
Here is a pic of mine...

That is really cool! I would have loved to have given my son one...hes 20 now. I give him knives from time to time.

Flint that's awesome. You're a good dad! Just imagine what the smile will look like when you give him his first real knife.
Thanks for sharing.

Very cool gift. Great marketing idea, as well...
