My son is a Captain in Military Intelligence and he is being shipped out on December 29th as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. I would like any or all of you to pray for his and all our sons and daughters safety. I would like to send him a Busse to take with him to shove it up a Camel Jocky's A**!!! Any suggestions? Thanks, Ronybear.....

My family wishes yours all the best in having your son come home safe. We appreciate his and all of the efforts being done in this operation. Truly, your son is already a hero.

As for a Busse knife, they are the ONLY brand I would bet my life on without hesitation... and would tell you to get a Battle Mistreee-E (my favorite) or a Steel Heart. Either blade will be more than adequate for any task he puts them to.

Ask him what he is willing to carry.
If he stays at base he will not have the same needs as out in the field.

Hi ronybear,
like said above, it depends on the most likely use of the knive. The best all around knive is IMO the Steel Heart, if your son wants a lighter knive the Satin Jack is easy to carry and has a well balanced blade. If he prefers smaller knives get the Badger Attack III or the Publik Defender. Get him whatever he prefers, you will make the right choice.
Godspeed to him and his comrades

I too would think the Natural Outlaw would be a good choice, or the Satin Jack 1/4". Enough blade for poppin ammo boxes and doors, but not so long as to get in the way.

Thank your son for his commitment and service to our country.

Mike

My prayers are with you and your son.
Get him the Steel Heart. It is the flagship of the Busse line and a great all around knife. It will last a lifetime.

Our prayers are with your son and all the brave men and women serving their country.

As for a knife..... I have a cousin that's been over there for a while now. He asked his mom to get him a good knife, he also told here to ask me to pick it out:D Knowing his likes in a knife typically somthing the size of a K-bar I grabbed a 3/16 Satin Jack without hessitation, and it was on it's way. Needless to say He fell in love.......:D

My prayers are with him and all who are shipping out.

It is probably worth asking him if he can carry what he wants or not. Some units have a lot of latitude, while others have none at all. Also, while we all love the big blades, some in the military feel they are too "Rambo-ish". A BAD might be a good compromise if he has to keep it out of sight.

I have no idea what he'll be encountering, but when I was in the AF, I'd have LOVE to have had a knife like this.

ronybear,
Our prayers are with them all!! Take care.

Satin Jack or Badger Attack III

If he avoids BG's and opening crates he could probably get by with a Badger Attack III:cool:
Otherwise, for a more demanding environment I'd give him a 1/4" Satin Jack or Natural Outlaw.

Give your son our thanks ronybear:)
Our prayers are with him.

I used to be an MI soldier and would say that a Satin Jack or Badger Attack III would be a good choice. The duties of MI are somewhat differant than the line soldier or the more combat/hands on type of soldier, not to say that they don't get their hands dirty, just the need for a really large blade may not be there. If you want to lean toward the larger of the 2,I would go for the Satin Jack, probably would make for a more all around prybar type knife than the Badger, which is more of a cutting knife.Just my 2 cents worth.Good wishes and God speed,Thank him for his service.

Ron,
My prayers are with your Family and your Son.

Thank him for his service from us.

Let us know what you decide to send along, you've received a lot of good ideas.
:D:D

Ron,
I wish your son well there in Kuwait. I was there last year this time for Operation Enduring Freedom. I carried the Natural Outlaw and the Euro4. I used both knives extensivly in the the field there. The Euro Four would be the best bet in my opinion (it is only available in Europe however, although it wouldn't hurt to ask the MAN). It is really Heavy Duty and will handle any task that would come up there. The Badger Attack III would be a good knife as well. Both the Euro4 and the BAIII are small enough not to be "Rambo-ish" but tough enough to get any job done. A good compromise :)

Best Regards,

Nick

Ron, Gods speed to your son.

With him being an officer I would go with a BA3 or an Active Duty.
These would be a constant companion for every day use.
I think either of those would serve him well.

If you decide on the AD and can't find one, Drop me a line and I'll lend you one.
I have a few coming in this week.

If he'll be in the field much, then the SJ or NO.

If not, then the AD.

Ditto Chuck, God's speed to your son :D

many thanks to your son for serving us!

a SJ or your desert storm fighter would look just right shoved up some camel jockys a$$!:D

stay safe and God bless

Please pass on our blessings from down here!

My opinion would have to be the NO, for more utilitarian work. But for "shoving up camel jockys a$$'s"....The Mojo would make a good fit I would reckon...

Thank all of you so much for your good wishes and prayers. Everything you see and hear on TV doesn't really hit home until it's THIS close to home. My first thought was the Natural Outlaw and I even thought of the Desert Storm Fighter I have, but I really wanted him to have INFI so I think I am going to send him the Satin Jack. It is one of my favorites and I think more appropriate for him. I just hope I can get it to him before he leaves.
