My son is 25 years old and starting to get a little "thin" at the hairline. Because of his age, it's really starting to stress him out - to the point where he's considering some of the over-the-counter preparations like Procerin or Rogaine....................................
Hair loss like that can often be attributed to vitamins. People start taking them for high stress jobs, health, etc., and often they are overdosing their body. In fact, many people's bodies cannot tolerate vitamins at all.
Hair loss is one of the first visual symptoms, but many never make the connection.
It happened to me when I was 25-26. I was introduced to shaklee vitamins, and started taking them, along with some chocolate flavored health drink of theirs I would mix in the blender in the morning.
My hair started falling out noticably. I guessed the connection by blind luck, quit the vitamins, and the health drink, and the hair loss stopped, and what I had lost grew back.
Vitamins can be very bad for some people, and most people get enough in their regular diet.
Some medications can cause hair loss too. If he takes any, he can call his pharmacist to see if they can cause it. Don't ask the doctor, most of them don't seem to have a clue about the side effects of the stuff they prescribe.
