My sons first knife

Queen #2 jack in winterbottom oops double tap might as well use it
I bought this knife a year or so ago just because I didn't have anything with winterbottom covers. It's a really nice knife with great fit and finish. I just never really took to the winterbottom.

How cool is that?!

I love this place. Thank you Paul.

Lovely pics of the young fella-thanks for sharing a priceless moment.

Appears it is time for me to let my nephew see my knives :P. I'm sure you son will value that knife, and all knives for the rest of his life. Good work!

What a great one to start out with! Soooo, are his little pockets even big enough to carry it or does he need a belt sheath?

I remember my first knife. I think I was 8 or so. My dad got it for me from the local country store where he was raised, we were visiting my grand parents. It was a Case pearl handled med stockman I believe. I remember two things from the knife. One, I cut the snot out of my finger whittling with it the first day I got it. Had to get stitches. And two, my grandfather swindled it away from me by "Swapping Knives" and I ended up with a crusty old Anvil knife that I sitll have.

Funny you should ask. I was getting his cloths out today and his little pants didn't have a pocket. He said I can't wear those pants took me ten minutes talking to him to figure out he wanted pants with a pocket for his knife. ( he dosent get to pack it unsupervised yet ) so anyway no more pocketless pants for the boy.

I took at Buck Cross lock and ground the edge and tip off. My older son has been playing with that one for most of his life. He used to sit next to me when I was working on leather projects and "cut" leather and string.

Now my 3 year old will cart it around.

It was always funny for people to notice the little guy with a "knife" clipped to his pocket!

My daughter and I have been noticing that look since she was 1. For a few months she liked to have this knife clipped to her pants.

Thanks. That picture is a couple of years old now. These days she likes to ask for my Northfield scout or more recently my Charlow. She can't open them yet though.

I learned the hard way time flys grab every second you can. I was in the Corps when my older kids were little. About a month before Trey (KPB III) was born I made my last house payment, a week before I sold the new car we were making payments on and got a used one for cash. I retired and spend all day with him. The wife still works at the family restaurant three days a week for spending money, and to get out of the house to keep her sanity ( she already spent YEARS at home raising kids)I knew I missed a lot but now I KNOW I missed a lot. Stuff that no amount of money can replace for sure
