I just pair a slipjoint with my GB2 or Umnumzaan. The BF21 knife from last year. Little bigger than a lot of slipjoints.

Which Spyderco is that? I like it.
Not a big fan of back locks, but I could learn to love it I guess.
I'll guess. I think it might be a frankenspyderco. A quick search found a fluted Ti Native 5s in S35VN but not in Cruwear. Might be a stock Native 5 in Cruwear with the scales from the S35VN knife.
I never noticed that. Hopefully it won’t bug me now.
Don't need to search, just read my post #12: "The one below originally came in S35vn. There is also a fluted CF version with S90v edge."
The Native is quite a bit thicker and a little bit larger than the Chaparral, it's more of a workhorse knife as where the Chaparral has a thin slicey blade more suited for cutting fruit, opening packages, breaking down cardboard, and cutting zip ties and the like but I've read about people using them for hard use tasks without issue. The Chaparral won't take as much abuse as the Native but the Native will never slice as well as the Chaparral either, so a lot of it comes down to how you intend to use it. The below video is the only comparison between the two that I could find back when I was trying to decide between them. In my opinion the sage is kind of a cross between the native and the Chaparral and if you wanted something a bit larger than the Chaparral but not as robust as the Native, it would be my first choice for the thinner blade stock alone, it's like the Chaparral's bigger cousin.Has anybody owned both the Chaparral and Native 5?
They look very similar to me and being unable to hold each in hand I can't appreciate the differences.
I'd appreciate a rundown of the plusses and minuses of each.
How come nobody mentioned the Sage 5? I've owned this knife a few times and loved it.
Thanks
What’s a Mini OG?If the waypoint was too slim for you then the Chaparral likely would be as well. The Sage series is another good option though if you don't like the backlock.

And just for fun here's the mini OG and a mini grip with the waypoint.

Monterey bay knives mini old guard. The version pictured with the waypoint and mini grip is all titanium, but they currently have micarta versions available. What’s a Mini OG?
Yeah, this was already mentioned and is a front runner along with the Sage 5.Monterey bay knives mini old guard
Are you opposed to slipjoints? They're my preferred second knife if I'm carrying two. Take a look at the CollectorKnives exclusives from lionSTEEL -- they're modern traditionals with screw construction and M390 blades.
In terms of locking folders, the Bugout fits most of your requirements. The Tactile Rockwall does too, but it's $50 over your budget.
I think some of you misconstrued my question which, I admit, wasn't phrased all that well.I was going to say the same thing. I'd recommend a GEC71! That being said if you're wanting something small I would take the Hogue Deka 10 to 1 over the bugout.
