My Spyderco story.

I already shared this story with friends on Spyderco company forum.
I would also like to share it here with those of you who rarely or never go to the Spyderco web site...
A couple of weeks ago I received an email from Joyce Laituri at Spyderco Marketing.
Joyce said that she liked some of my pictures posted in "WhyNot's corner" of Spyderco Picture Gallery where shots have been taken using mirror reflecting blue sky and clouds. She also said that Spyderco is getting ready to shoot some shots for the 2008 catalog and asked me if I would mind if they used a similar concept? In her own words "We certainly felt like the shot set up was great and wouldn't use your concept without your blessing and permission." It was a shocker! They asked my permission to use something that I never considered more than a lucky shot I came across playing with my camera. Talking about business and personal integrity!
Obviously, I sent my “blessing” right away. Joyce replied that she shared the concept with the catalog photographer and he was going to work on setting up the shot. She also mentioned that I should look for a UPS truck to bring me a "little surprise".
So I was prepared when I saw a little UPS box by the door in a few days. But nothing could have prepared me for what was inside…
C53 Titanium Herbst! I was speechless! Such a generous and classy gift! Nothing in my humble collection comes close to this gem!

Thank you Joyce, Sal and all the good people at Spyderco!

Here are some pictures of the Holy Grail of my collection. I posted a few more in Spyderco Picture Gallery on the company web site.
