That's it. That's all I wanted to say. I've noticed when I'm nauseated I'm nearly powerless. I wonder what effect that has on the battlefield. Forget poisen gas- develop a vomit gas.

When my stomach fails everything shuts down. I could hike farther with a broken arm than a sick stomach.

If pot cured nausea like many say it does I could see legalization.

The classic line is an Army marches on it's stomach. I agree.

I notice benadryl helps- but then I get sleepy.

To all of you out there gulping down handfuls of vile medication the Doctors insist upon, you have my admiration.

I haven't covered old mans guts in this thread but will get to that. It remains an old man's priviledge to complain of bowel movements and interupted digestion.

I must be heading for the Damned bowl of steamed prunes.

munk--sorry to hear it. Stomach problems are no fun. I used to get really bad indigestion when I drank. Ginger is a good stomach settler/soother. If you can find some candied ginger, or even fresh root, give it a try.

I have a sensitive gut too. In fact my esophagus spasms on occasion, creating heart attack - like symptoms. trying to cure acid reflux now.

I've found that too hot or too cold is bad. Spicy is bad. Curry is death. Meals after 10pm are bad. Wheat is bad and grease is bad. Alcohol or nuts = instant heartburn.

Small meals are good. Veggies and meat are good. Warm drinks are good. A nice warm glass of water with a little salt in it, sipped slowly, will calm a distressed gut better than tums. Putting the warm glass against my stomach helps even more.

Yeah, that's two things about drinking I don't miss; lack of sleep and indigestion. I'm not sure what you call food that's been swallowed along with a fifth of vodka, but you don't call it digested.

I think there's a human division between the young and old having to do with the ability to eat Italian food after 8pm. If you can do it, you're young.

Hot sauce doesn't bother me much- but some kinds bother me the next day.

"My Stomach Hurts".

That's the same ailment that afflicted Charlie Brown. What did he do for abdominal pain? Look to the humble peanut for the answer.

Tummy troubles are the pits. Drink some good ginger ale. You have to read the label and make sure it contains natural ingredients not artificial. It does seem to help for some unknown reason....like the ginger in it. I always knew I'd be good for something some day

Had to fight rush hour traffic to get into Phoenix for an early Dr. appt.....note to self....no dr. appts before 10am  ......It's raining and my patio is covered in mud.....other than that life in the Valley of the Sun(that isn't shining) is just great. I'm getting too used to this wonderful place. Love it down here. :D

Any place with the Western Diamondback Rattler can't be all bad.

We need to genetically alter them to bite gang members at all opportunities. I think you have more of those than rattlers.

Yes they have those things here and I still haven't ventured out in the outback to see if I could find one  I think the snake would die laughing at me screaming and otherwise jumping frantically around trying to get away from it. Might actually give the poor devil a heart attack  But then that's my female perogative to be scared sh--less of snakes  :footinmou

Yes, Philthy, I'm real close to Phoenix....like the #1 suburb close. Although I live waaaaaaaayyyyyyy out on the east side of Mesa close to the Superstition Hills....I mean Mountains. Love it here. Will definitly be doing some hiking up there this year. Finally found a wonderful place to just park and get lost....I mean hike. And be sure I'll be carrying my khuk just in case I run into any critters....or need to cut firewood when I get lost

I've an unmarried friend living close to the Superstition's, Gin, but he's a bit of a strange character. I don't think he looks like Charlton Heston, either.

Very neat place. I've now spent a grand total of 3 weeks touring and hiking through AZ and southern California. My first trip I landed in Bullhead City, rented a car and drove for 4 days. I went through Wickenburg, Wikiup, Phoenix, Tuscon, Sedona, Flagstaff up 89A through the painted desert. Also hit Coral pink Sand dunes and Zion National Monument in Utah, and Valley of Fire state park in Nevada on that 4 day trip. Just beautiful. I would love to live and work in Arizona.

The desert between Tuscon and Phoenix made me feel like I was in a prickly version of Australia. My arctic body got to soak in the sunshine again.
