My Stomach Hurts

Highway 89A is absolutely the best. All the hairpin turns....all like 169 of them...fun. I'm going to take a drive on that road with my friend who drives racecars for a living  I think we're taking the BMW although I voted for the Mercedes  My chevy didn't even make it into the running....not enough cylinders. :D

For severe nausea the only thing I have found besides pot (which works unbelievable but is illegal) is Tylenol makes a headache formula with some sort of anti nausea thing in it. I haven't had the stomach flu for a few years, I assume it is still on the market, but it works as well as pot but it is less expensive ;)

Benadryl is a wonder drug. You know it is a topical/surface anesthetic? Also, if I'd known it defeats LSD I could have saved myself a lot of bad trips when I was 20 .

Sounds like a waste of good LSD. :p

What do you do if pot makes you nauseous? I use Captain Morgan's...

So..you've a little bit of the Captain in ye, eh?

Sounds like a waste of good LSD. >>>>>>>

My brain was a waste of good LSD

Hey, don't look at me; I've turned it down the last two times it was offered. Once was from a longshoreman fresh down from Alaska--you know he had some good stuff.

I thought those were anti diareah(sp) not anti nausea?
Dramine is for motion sickness and Benadryl is usually for allergies, never heard it used for nausea before.

Tsimi I would really love to know what the Tylenol product you speak of is. I take so damned many pills at one time that they often make me nauseaous and I wind up taking even more pills, Compazine, and/or Tums to stop it. Sometimes just the Compazine will work but the combo always has, so far.
The Compazine Suppositories ALWAYS work but using them is disgusting and they're expensive as hell to boot. Just be sure to read the directions because the method of application is wierd.

Also taking as much pain medication, let alone all the other meds, as I do the bowel problems Munk speaks of is always a problem,

"I haven't covered old mans guts in this thread but will get to that. It remains an old man's priviledge to complain of bowel movements and interupted digestion.

I must be heading for the Damned bowl of steamed prunes."

Since Munk has given me permission to speak thereof, emphasis mine....;) :p
I sometimes just eat the dried prunes, don't particularly like 'em steamed, long story, but I like most any dried fruit.
I take the Walmart Equate brand of Sennosides, 25 mg and the same Equate brand of stool softeners, Docusulate(sp?) something or other.
From 3-5 of the first one and 6 of the second. Keeps me going you might say. ;)

Some of the things that I have trouble eating anymore is Beans, of any kind and, Onions, cooked in any manner.
Cooked Cabbage is starting to be a problem. A goodly amount of Beano helps to correct the problem, 6 - 8 of them chewed
thoroughly.
And I can't eat the hot stuff I used to be able to, not because of gut problems, but because of a mouth that has gotten really sensitive to hot peppers over the years.:(
There's a brand of canned jalepenos I like really well that I can still eat. I'd have to get up and go look to see what they are called, but I do remember they are called, "Tamed Jalepenos" under the brand name.
Still pretty warm, just not mouth blistering.

I'll also vote for the Ginger, both MamaV and the root. I'd still do the pot but it is illegal and worse it gives me the munchies like crazy.
I can't afford to be busted with it nor can I afford to gain anymore weight.:grumpy:
One nice thing about the pot and me..... It calmed my temper down to a low hiss and what I would normally fight over I just laughed at. The damned stuff does make you weird!!!!;)

Yes, Philthy, I'm real close to Phoenix....like the #1 suburb close. Although I live waaaaaaaayyyyyyy out on the east side of Mesa close to the Superstition Hills....I mean Mountains. Love it here. Will definitly be doing some hiking up there this year. Finally found a wonderful place to just park and get lost....I mean hike. And be sure I'll be carrying my khuk just in case I run into any critters....or need to cut firewood when I get lost

51-55 I hiked all around the Superstitions. Saw one rattler, he went his way and I my way. Watch out for the Javalinas! Ran into a few of those.

Never hiked deep into the Superstitions. Lost Dutchman Mine seekers did. Not all came back. Some found with a bullet in their head. Searchers would go in on a trail, nothing, coming back on the same trail, just the head in the trail with a bullet hole in it. I'd pack at least a handgun, in addition to the Khukuri. Of course my info and experience is 50 years old. :D

Gin don't you even Joke about getting lost!!!!
Reading the local Phoenix paper gives way too many examples of people who have just went out for an afternoon's hike and been lost for several days. Too easy too do in that country unless you have a built in direction finder!!!!
It's damned hard to get me lost here in Oklahoma even though there are a lot of places where I'm "turned around" and can't tell one direction from another. If I walk or drive in I can walk or drive back out. But I wouldn't trust my inner direction finder In Arizona... Too many places look just alike, although some people say that about Oklahoma and other states.
However my direction finder worked just fine in SoCal so it might work in AZ, I just wouldn't trust it without my trusty compass along.
You be Extra Careful when you do go out! You Hear Me Gurl?!?!?!;) :p
And take along more water than you think you'll need!

I have some recommendations:

1. eliminate ALL wheat and corn

2. eliminate ALL beans including not just the obvious, but peanuts and lentils even (peanuts are actually legumes)

3. eliminate tomatoes and eggplant

4. eliminate dairy

5. eliminate sugary things

The above cause a lot of people a lot of troubles because the list has food that many people do not tolerate well.

I also take psyllium fiber which helps a lot on the other end :)

I can't imagine getting lost in AZ. I've never been lost, indeed, I do have the internal direction finder. Mostly I just recognize features as I move along. Maybe I could get lost in the Chirwakauwa's, (sic) I don't know. The recognition of features is attributed to eidetic memory- like hunter/gatherers have.

Gin- Yvsa's right about the water.

Yvsa, if you don't believe me about benadryl for nausea, try it. It stimulates the appetite too. I prefer the liquid form- the generic at Wal mart.

Anyone with any question about their outdoor survival skills AND planning wilderness tramps might wish to read "98.6, The Art of Keeping Your Ass Alive," Cody Lundin (Gibbs Smith 2003). It is endorsed by NASAR and most of the survival biggies. Skip the chapter on knives. Fun read. PG.

I've had a bad stomach since I was a kid. Dramamine works wonders for nausea. When it hits me badly, I take 2 Tums, a dramamine and a Zantac acid reducer. Usually feel tolerable in 30 minutes. Your mileage may vary.

I believe you Munk. And I may try it. Many times my Barbie will fix a wonderful dinner and I can be hungry enough to eat the north end of a south bound skunk but when I set down to eat my stomach starts churning and I can't eat that much.....
Then later on I eat crap that ain't good for me. :(

There are no bad trips. Only learning experiences. Watching your face melt off in a mirror prepares you for other bullshit stuff you have to deal with later on ;)

I remember doing these 4 way hits once. I was tripping so hard that I couldn't stand up. The ground kept rising up in front of me and breaking open and I'd start to compensate for standing on a hill and fall down. I was on flat ground ;)

Well, speak of the devil. I'm up to about 12 tums and the pain is radiating between my shoulder blades. Had wheat, corn and dairy.

One of these days I'm going to listen to myself, and stop eating crap food.

I've never had my face melt off. Never had a problem standing. I had the finest material available in Santa Cruz at the time, too, and have joined the 2500 to 5000 microgram club many many times. In a 24 hour period I've taken...well, enough of that.
Learning experience is BS. Having your arm chopped off is a learning experience too but I wouldn't want to have it. There are many people for whom LSD does not open doors that were not already open. I am one of those people. All it ever did was confuse the issue and cram the doorways full of debris. I think of the possible 1000 trips I've done and can count 'learning' on one finger.

I'm a weird kid and it took me a long time to realize I was already there and had been for many years.
Booze did me more damage than anything I can think of.

Drugs are overrated. Wandering the Desert taught me more in a year than the ten years I fooled around with crap.

To each his own, though. I'll not gainsay anyonelse's experiences.

Of them all I think Psyilocybin (sic) the best. Peyote is a murky, subterranian experience, what it is to the hallucinogens Tequilla is to booze.

Actually, they are all of them about the same. Same circle, same up and down, same adaptations.

I don't think it matters much if you take an up or a down, a sideways or an inbetween.

I think all of them eventually become a measurement of pain.
