What did the finish look after you stripped it and before you worked your magic ??\

Amazing job by the way !

All I did was stripped the coating man! All of the CG NMFBM are LEs under the coating  JK!

The finish was very dark underneath the coating. There were fairly rough grind marks on the bevels and lots of shallow dimples throughout the whole blade. Also, my stripper was having a hard time eating through the sage coating. Not sure if they changed something in the coating or if it is because of the surface prep. The coating seems to hold on really well without the bubbling that I normally see. After about 20mins I just said screw it and started grinding away!

LOL... I wish it was that easy ... .

I had a hard time stripping my Sage FFFBM.. Like you said the coating just did not bubble out or anything... .

Hmmmm. I know I may be alone but how do you think a really tapered tang and full handle job would make this feel? I barely got mine today but by the feel of it I think it could be a little quicker, although for its size it is pretty quick.

You stink! I was hooked on that line for a few minutes. "Wow. Maybe it really IS that nice underneath."

d'OH! I guess mine will stay black.

Ban, have you ever detailed the steps you take in order to re-attach the flared tubes on your blades?

I'd be curious to read it if you have. Especially if there's pictures involved!

That looks great! Very nice work.

Do you have any pics post-strip and pre-Banned? Would love to see the NMFBM in it's ugly glory.

Wow, gorgeous!!! The tan micarta is awesome on the satin blade!:thumbup:
