My Summer EDC SAK

I got a new Vic Alox Cadet and it has turned out to be a great little SAK. It is similar to the Farmer without the saw and swaps the awl for a nail file. It is quite a bit thinner and lighter than the Farmer and makes a great EDC to work, etc. I still like the Farmer for outdoors, but this little setup is really nice and easy on the pocket.

I caught the SAK flu.

Trying to desperately find the Pioneer Harvester in blue. It's just like the farmer, but it has the pruning blade instead of the can opener, which I think will be a lot more useful.

I looked around for a bit for the Pioneer Harvester, and couldn't really find it at a reasonable price or in anything but silver. That pruning blade would be useful.... until you starved to death because you couldn't get into that can of soup.:D Let me know if you find one in blue..

You know what? I actually did think about that earlier, hahah. :p

This guy by the name of scibeer does mods for SAK. He does this really cool dark OD color, but he's moved since I last talked to him and doesn't have the equipment to work on them anymore. He also adds a sturdy pocket clip. I'm sad he's gone. :grumpy:

I'll let you know if I can find it blue or another color, but it's not looking hopeful.

Totally agree. I picked up a nice orange Alox Cadet a couple months ago and love it. Slim, light and a nice basic selection of tools for EDC around town. :thumbup:

There are many points of view on this site. The majority in WSS love the SAK.

that's too bad scibeer is gone - his work is awesome

having a Farmer slimmed down by scibeer with the bottle opener and can opener removed has been the perfect SAK for me :thumbup:

Yeah, scibeer's work is awesome. I'm pissed at myself for not ordering one sooner. He made one just like that for mtnfolkmike but in OD green that I got to handle. What I like most is the pocket clip, I know I will eventually lose mines without a way to attach it to my body.
