My survival knife collection is safe, Thank God.

95% of my knives stay in the safe. I do have insurance on my collection so if somthing bad happens iv covered

I'm glad to hear everyone is safe and that the losses weren't more serious. I just had someone try to break in when my wife was home, which is unsettling to say the least.
I hope there's a special place in Hell for people like that.
I also wish that trapguns and booby traps weren't illegal, because for me setting traps for thieves and robbers would be a labour of love.

if it didn't have a nice Blade Tech sheath i'd be happy if someone stole my CS SRK.

I totally understand that. Is your wife OK? After the break, in I can relate to the desire to place booby traps for would be thieves. I guess an alarm will have to do.

As for a special place in hell for people like that, that's one area where I wouldn't mind if Dante got it right.

Several years back my whole collection was stolen (about 70 knives) and as you can guess some of which could never be replaced. Its the most crushing feeling you could ever have, trust me on that one.

Glad to hear they didn't get to the important stuff and everyone is okay though. Hope you have your stuff locked up.

I hope the police come through for you. I have lived in some pretty crappy places and as a result am kinda paranoid. This area is not bad but the house is ringed with motion sensor lights. All my irreplaceable stuff is in the safe. The safe is bolted to the floor and walls. It is not fireproof as I could not afford one that good. I also have a video in the safety deposit box that shows everything with serial numbers and ID marks for the insurance company. I also have a tenant who does not drive so he almost never leaves the house. He gets up early, I am up till 2 or 3 every night as I work middle shift. There is only about 4 hours a day that someone is not awake. If he was not there I would get a good dog or an alarm system or both.

Security is important in our culture. Making sure you home is "solid" is paramount. Even using the cheap door/window alarms that just make a high pitch sound can be a bit of a deterent. I practice hiding everything. Even placing my keys in an "out of sight" position. When they come for your things....forget the gun. Kill them with your bare hands. Little bastards.

It's a lot less messy, that's for sure.

This has troubled me for quite some time. I keep all my guns locked up in my safe, however, there's no room for all my knives. I would be absolutely devastated if they got stolen.

If by chance I happen to be home during a break-in, well....my pet python doesn't take too kindly to intruders...
