My Survival knife setup

Anti-Personnel Obstacle Breaching System (APOBS)

Return of the J.D. the APOBS is a two pack system that consists of a rocket and a long firehouse stuffed with 130 something grenades, you set it in place, aim the rocket, pull appropriate tags and off goes the rocket trailing the hose of death, and KABOOM, used to clear C-wire, mine fields, IEDs, or like the name says personell, and thanks for the tips, I think I'll ditch the sinkers.
-I'm thinking of adding a Petzl E-lite to this kit, if not that then a Photon Freedom in yellow.
-the oven bags have not worked for me, I tried on in my kitchen and it burst in just a minute or two. What size and how much water will it hold? I like the freezer bag because thier pretty dang strong
-I'm working on a field sharpener right now consisting of a small paint mixer with cozy neoprene and sand paper on one side and leather on the other, I think I'm gonna load it with Bark River's black compound. the glue is drying, I'll post pics later
-I'm actually considering ditching the entire fishing rig, becasue as has been mentioned, food is not a huge priority, getting rescued/finding my way is. And my whittling/carving skills have improved alot, so I can carve a spear for fish if need be.
-the cocoon is fastened with the pink 550 cord, and the leg strap, there is a small loop at teh top of the cocoon that the 550 goes through, and then a MALICE clip in the back that the leg strap goes through, it's really stable like this.

thanks all for the comments/suggestions.
Am I missing anything??

Used to clear a path through mine fields.

Although I bet the guys in the chute shop would have fun modding one if the could.

Nice kit!

I second the idea of adding a Photon light. Would you have room to add a Mylar space bag if you refolded it to fit the pouch? I have refolded/reshaped these a time or two so that they would fit whatever pouch or pocket they were destined for, and then used a Food Saver vacuum sealer to repackage them.

The karabiner seems to be a lot of weight for dubious benefit. It isn't suitable for supporting you in any climbing application, and cheap snap clips from the fishing department would serve ta attach things at a tiny fraction of the weight. You may also want to ditch some of the duct tape in favor of some fluorescent flagging tape.

Moonbow makes a water bag/bucket out of sil-nylon that looks pretty cool and should pack down to almost nothing. Another very sturdy bag is to save the foil bag from a Mountain House backpacking dinner. I currently have a heavy Food Saver bag attached to the back of my Rat-7 kit (I just love linking back to that thread! :) ) but I think I'll replace it with a Mountain House bag.

I always carry fishing gear (hooks, line ,sometimes sinkers0 recently have added military speedhooks as well. The weight is negligible, the cordage and hooks do come in handy for harvesting not only fish but birds, lizards, snakes, and rabbits etc. I was advised by someone long ago that in a survival situation fish first as far as food gathering goes. Over the years that old dog seems to have known what he was talking about.

How does the Maxpedition cacoon attach to ther kydex, more pics of it would be great. And if you ever grow bored of the knife I'll take it.

Flix, the foodsaver bag is a good idea because they are super sturdy, how do you close it?
And the 'biner just got left on there from the cocoons last use as a hygene kit
I'm picking up some of this:http://www.uline.com/Browse_Listing_3110.asp?pricode=wf725 in one of the flourescent colors, and you've got yourself a nice setup too

Here is how I made mine so it would close. I cut it and reasealed the bag so it had just a small funnel to it. I can fold it over a couple times, and tie it close with some string. Once it is tied, the string won't slide up and off because top flares out when the string is pulled tight.

The red line is where I seal the bag. I usually seal it twice to make sure. Also, the bag would not fit in my sealer on the very edge because of the "U" shaped hooks on the lid for holding down the top part of the sealer. I just took them off as it is just two phillips holding them on.

It may take you a bag or two to figure out where you need to be with the sealer so both red lines cross and seal without going to far or not enough, but once you know where you are, it makes a great little water bag.

I roll my bags up with a sheet of paper, and then a small piece of tape holds it nice and compact.

I also carry some tin foil. I roll it up to. Folding it has ALWAYS made small holes in it and it never holds water. Even rolling it will create small holes and leak out water. I use the foil as a double boiler and whatever amount of water the foil holds is enough so I can put my FOOD SAVER BAG in it while it is filled with water and boil it. That small amount of water keeps your bag from melting, but you are still able to boil your water right in the bag.

I also tie a small piece of string to the top of the bag and to something over head like a branch to keep the bag from tipping over. Not tight or anything, but enough to hold the bag up right.

Those bags are made to be put in boiling water. So this works pretty good with a little practice.

I would also take an old water purification tablet bottle, and fill it with bug juice then seal it with wax. That will really make an unexpected over night stay easier. I also use the small MRE Tabasco Sauce bottles for small pocket kits like the ALTOIDS tins. Both of those hold more than enough bug juice to make it easy to sleep for a night or maybe two if you just do your hands, arms, face, and neck.
