Hi All,
First of all thanks for the response on yesterdays "Punchulu" I guess Ill be making some more. But today I have put up for sale my take on a Nessmuk. The knife popularized by George Washington Sears in the 1880's. Great all round camp knife mine has a little redesign to it. First of all the upper front third of the blade is razor sharp and the back end has been modified for a firmer grip. In addition the metal at the base of the tang has been hardened and can be used as a glass breaker or a skull crusher.
The Specifics:
Metal: 3/16ths 1095 to a RC 57-58 pretty close to a mirror finish.
Length: just shy of 8"
Edge Length: 2 7/8 on the bottom 1 3/8 inches on the top.
File work: Thumb groves on the top of the spine. Very comfortable in the hand.
Handle: Burled Red Maple. 2 brass pins. The pattern of the wood was a surprise. The pics don't do it justice.
Price: $70.00 shipped USPS 1st class w tracking to the lower 48 add $10 for a black Kydex belt sheath.
For those who carry all the time this would work well as up close and personal.
As always comments are appreciated.
Thanks, Ken
